Chapter 118 Curiosity and Chit-chat
Chapter 118 Curiosity and Chit-chat
As Easter approaches, Hogwarts, which has just lifted all its defenses, announces that people can go to Hogsmeade village this weekend.
Without the disturbing Dementors or the sudden escapees from the school, there are more laughs in Hogwarts Castle.
Everyone lined up at the door, and Filch was still checking each student seriously. Harry smiled and handed over his signature sheet. Filch grunted and stared at the sheet for a long time, making sure it was not forged before letting him go to the front.
Soon Gloria came. Before that, she had explained the situation to Filch and compensated him with a cat tonic. Considering her status and attitude, Filch accepted it.
Everyone arrived at the village chatting and laughing, and the wanted posters on the streets had already been removed.
Gloria quickly caught up with Harry and patted his shoulder, "Harry."
The three turned around and saw her and Draco examining them. Gloria lifted a corner of her school robe to reveal the Marauder's Map inside. "I forgot to return it to you last time. Do you want to go to the bar with me?"
The three of them looked at Draco.
Master Platinum sneered and said, “For Lori’s sake, I’ll try not to make any noise.”
The bar was still as lively as ever, with a bunch of students crowding in front of the bar to order butterbeer, while the adults were discussing recent events, and Sirius' name was inevitably mentioned.
Gloria walked in front and chose the small table by the window where she sat last time. Because it was blocked by some debris, no one was sitting there.
It was a bit crowded for five people to sit down, so Draco cleaned up two of the seats first before sitting down next to Gloria, staring at the dirty table with his gray-blue eyes and frowning.
Harry and the others huddled together, and Gloria raised her hand to cast a soundproofing spell around them to prevent others from hearing their conversation.
She placed the map on the table and pushed it towards Harry. "Thanks to your map, I wouldn't have discovered Pettigrew otherwise."
"Professor Lupin said it was good luck." Harry put away the map. "He didn't find Pettigrew before. We saw him stealing food that day, and Hagrid was missing some rock biscuits."
Rock Cake, that thing is more useful for hitting people than a magic wand.
"My mother was terrified," Ron said. "Bill wrote to me about this and said that Dad took her to the Ministry of Magic with him. Fortunately, Headmaster Dumbledore was there, so there was no problem."
After Pettigrew escaped, he stayed at the Weasley house the longest, so the couple had to be summoned.
Draco snorted, "Your family didn't find it strange that an ordinary mouse lived that long."
Ron gritted his teeth and held back. They had thought that it would be better if Scabbers lived longer so they could save money on buying a pet. Maybe he had magic in his body but it just didn't show. According to the registered Animagus, this small form was very rare.
Hermione was worried that they would quarrel, so she took the initiative to say, "I dropped out of the Divination class. Sirius is innocent, Pettigrew has been arrested, and Professor Trelawney keeps saying all kinds of ominous things to Harry."
"Yeah," said Ron. "And that's a very bad review of Hermione, too."
People say Hermione's brain is hopelessly mediocre, but she was top of the class in her first year. Exams were cancelled in her second year, and this year will probably be no exception.
Gloria had heard of this professor's style, "It's okay to withdraw. Not having a grade in that course doesn't mean you're not excellent."
"You are here—"
Weasley suddenly appeared, and Fred put his hand on Ron's shoulder and said to Harry, "Dad let it slip a little bit. The map we gave you played a big role."
George replied, "It's a great contribution."
Gloria pointed around and said, "We've cast a soundproofing spell. You can say whatever you want."
Fred and his brother looked at each other, "Then we are relieved. Giving the map to Harry is the best decision we have made this year."
George: "It's a better decision than buying a new broom next year."
Ron was indignant, "I have lived in the school for three years. Have you never noticed a strange name next to me on the map?"
"Little Ronnie," Fred said, "George and I are familiar with the school, and occasionally venture to use the map, just paying attention to who is approaching us."
George: "You're not a baby that needs to be watched."
When Ron went to school, the Weasley twins were already in the third grade and had already familiarized themselves with every corner of the school. This year, they were busy with business and rarely took risks, so they gave the map to Harry, who needed help more.
The two glanced at Draco who was also sitting here and swallowed the words they wanted to tease their brother.
Fred patted Ron on the shoulder and said, "Go to the trial and behave yourself."
George patted him as well and said, "Tell us more about it when you come back."
The Weasley twins waved and left. Ron looked at their backs and seemed to be hesitant to speak.
There were only five of them left, and Harry couldn't help his curiosity. "Gloria, you said in the headmaster's office that you had been to Azkaban?"
He was very afraid of Dementors and could not imagine how powerful Gloria was to be able to drive them away and successfully reach Azkaban.
Draco shifted his sitting position. When Gloria shouted something in an unintelligible language on the train on the first day of school, he had a feeling that the Dementors had something to do with the Slytherins, but he hadn't expected her to go directly to Azkaban without being discovered by the Ministry of Magic.
"It's actually very simple." Gloria leaned on Draco's shoulder. "Dementors were created by an ancestor of my family. I can command them using a specific language. Of course, they must be of direct Slytherin blood."
Hermione and Ron stared at her in a daze. After a while, Ron found his voice again and asked, "Did someone in your family create the Dementors?"
The mere appearance of that horrible creature was enough to scare people to death. All the happy feelings disappeared, and he didn't want to see it again.
"Harry, can you practice the Patronus Charm with a Boggart?" Gloria said, "I can get you a real Dementor that won't hurt you."
Draco remembered the time when he was fainted by the Dementors and smiled, "Lori will prepare a soft cushion for you, so it won't hurt you even if you faint."
Harry was so angry, "I can already cast the Patronus Charm successfully, I just haven't formed it yet."
Draco took a deep breath, "Then you must release the spell before you pass out."
Hermione slammed the table, breaking up the argument between them, "You were the one who made the strange noise on the train on the first day of school."
Gloria nodded, "It's me, but simply learning the language won't work. I have to combine it with blood suppression to control the Dementors."
Ron looked at his two friends and said, "We'll keep it a secret."
"It doesn't matter." A pair of familiar golden snake eyes appeared in Gloria's loose light blonde hair. "Golinia will lock the memory of this conversation. No one can get this memory through soul reading."
Ron was stunned and asked doubtfully: "That's it?"
"Otherwise." Gloria spread her hands, "It only takes a look."
Hermione watched as Golinia disappeared into the blonde hair, "This is the first time I'm not afraid of snakes. She's so beautiful."
Putting aside her identity as a snake, Golinia's beautiful golden scales are impeccable.
Ron stood up, "I'm going to get a few butterbeers, Gloria, have you tried any?"
"Of course you drank with me." Draco also stood up, lowered his eyes and said to Gloria: "I'll go buy some and come back later."
The two people who disliked each other went to the bar to order from a distance.
