Chapter 210 - 207: If You Say "Sorry, Husband," I Think I’d Forgive You Faster

"Of course!"

Clara Grant’s voice was full of confidence. He wouldn’t let her see Cherie, and he wouldn’t let her go back to her own home. Was he going to stop her from meeting her best friend now too?

She wasn’t his property, and she wasn’t some bird he could lock in a cage! She deserved to have some freedom, didn’t she?

"Okay, it’s a date! See you there. I’ll text you the address in a minute."

Clara Grant hung up and turned to face Seth Quinn. "I want to go out for a bit. Sarah asked to see me."

She paused for a moment before adding, "I want to see her. I’ve missed her."

Seth Quinn said nothing.

He felt a pang of resentment. She’d been away filming for over a month, and she’d missed Cherie, missed her mom, and now she was saying she missed her best friend.

’But what about me? Did she miss me at all? Even just a little?’

’Probably not.’

Seth Quinn shook his head in self-pity, then stood up to go upstairs.

Seeing him head upstairs without a word, Clara Grant assumed he was refusing to let her go see Sarah. She said angrily, "Seth Quinn, you can’t do this! I’m a person with my own freedom! Can’t I even go out to see a friend? You’re being too tyrannical!"

Seth Quinn stopped and looked back at her, a hint of innocence in his eyes. "I was just going upstairs to get the car keys."

"..."

Clara Grant was mortified. ’So he wasn’t saying no... he was going to drive me there?’

"N-no, that’s okay. I can just get a cab."

"Do you have any money?" Seth Quinn asked, looking her up and down.

Only then did Clara Grant remember that he had practically dragged her back to the city. She had nothing on her except her phone.

"Well, you could lend me some money. I’ll pay you back later."

"Why borrow money? I’ll just lend you the car—and myself," Seth Quinn said. Without waiting for a response, he strode upstairs to get the car keys.

Clara Grant thought, ’If he wants to drive me, let him. Besides, Sarah knows about our relationship, so it won’t be awkward.’

Still, she felt a little ashamed for having misunderstood him just now.

Seth Quinn came back downstairs a moment later. "Let’s go," he said as he walked past her.

But Clara Grant called out to him. Seth Quinn stopped and turned, looking at her quizzically.

Clara Grant ran a hand through her hair, bit her lip, and apologized. "About... what I said just now. I misunderstood you. I’m sorry."

A smile played on Seth Quinn’s lips. Half-joking, half-serious, he said, "If you said, ’I’m sorry, darling,’ I think I’d forgive you even faster."

"..."

They soon arrived at the address Sarah Shelby had sent. After parking the car and getting out, Seth Quinn looked up and saw it was a coffee shop. He frowned slightly and opened his mouth to speak, but then seemed to think better of it and shut it again.

When they went inside, Sarah Shelby was already there. She spotted them and stood up, waving.

Clara Grant hurried over, and Sarah Shelby came to meet her. The two embraced happily. It had been over a month, and they were overjoyed to be reunited after their time apart.

Seth Quinn trailed behind them, watching as they hugged and immediately started chattering away, completely oblivious to his presence.

He didn’t interrupt their joyful reunion, however, choosing instead to just watch quietly.

When the two women finally broke their embrace, Sarah Shelby noticed Seth Quinn standing behind Clara Grant.

She was startled for a moment, but then understanding dawned on her.

’They’re still in their honeymoon phase,’ she thought. ’Of course they’re inseparable and go everywhere together.’

"Mr. Quinn, please have a seat," Sarah Shelby said with poise, greeting him. The three of them then sat down.

Sarah Shelby was about to call a server over to order coffee, but Clara Grant stopped her. "Coffee? This late at night? Aren’t you worried you won’t be able to sleep?"

’I already napped for most of the afternoon. If I drink coffee now, will I get any sleep tonight at all?’

Before Sarah Shelby could reply, Seth Quinn began to speak in a slow, deliberate voice.
