Chapter 129 Tanjiro Kamado
Chapter 129 Tanjiro Kamado
As the last rays of twilight faded, night gradually fell.
The dark forests have always been a favorite setting for horror legends, where tree branches transform into grotesque and terrifying ghost hands under the cover of night.
At this moment, two evil spirits arrived at an unremarkable hilltop.
"What are we doing here?"
"I've traveled a long way," Muzan asked unhappily.
He didn't understand. He thought Shugo had come out to meet him, but why was she in this poor mountain village?
Looking for excitement?
There are no beautiful landscapes or interesting local legends; it's just a simple mountain, nothing but trees and rocks.
He even dressed up nicely before coming out.
When he was teleported to the town at the foot of the mountain, Muzan's expectations dropped, and when he saw Shugo leading him up the mountain, he became even more expressionless.
"I've come to see an old friend."
Shugo said casually.
What old friend?
Muzan was completely bewildered, wondering where he had met this old friend. Almost all the humans he knew (remembered) were now buried in the earth.
"You and I, old friends."
Shugo only said one sentence and then stopped, always wanting to leave some surprises.
Feeling bewildered, Muzan asked a few more questions, but received no answer. Knowing he wouldn't tell him, he could only glare at Shuugo resentfully.
Hiiragi pretended not to see it.
A caterpillar fell from the sky and landed on Muzan's ornately designed kimono.
There aren't many other people in the mountains, but there are many trees and many insects.
Muzan tried to hold back, but he couldn't help himself and angrily pinched Shugo's arm.
"It hurts."
Shugo called out and turned his head to look, where he saw a small, wriggling creature and some withered branches and leaves.
After catching the bugs and sweeping away the leaves for Muzan, Shugo retorted, "Didn't I tell you to wear the Talent set for easy movement when I went out?"
The refined boy Muzan gave Shugo a long, meaningful look. "Aren't you the same?"
I spent ages putting on makeup, and it completely changed my face.
He turned his head away and ignored him, but quickened his pace and passed Shugo directly.
Hiiragi: ...Do you know where to go?
Helpless, Shugo quickly chased after him and whispered a few words of coaxing before finally calming Muzan down.
Ghosts are faster than humans, and the two ghosts arrived quickly.
"arrive."
Shugo parted the branches, and a simple house appeared before him. He didn't knock on the door directly, but looked at Muzan instead.
Muzan understood immediately and created an inconspicuous face for himself.
Shugo then went up and knocked on the door.
"Dong dong dong."
With a creak, the door opened, and a young woman stepped out. Looking at the two distinguished-looking strangers before her, she hesitated before speaking.
"Gentlemen, is there anything I can help you with?"
"Mrs. Kamado, we've come to see Mr. Kamado. Mr. Yamada came before us and asked us to try and persuade him."
Kamado Aoi looked troubled, about to say something.
"This is a gift from us." Shugo handed over the bag he was carrying.
Muzan, who originally thought it was a gift for himself: ...
You can't hit someone who's smiling, especially when they've given you a gift.
Kamado Kui-zhi eventually led the person in, brought over a few cups of water, and went to call her husband.
Tanjuro, who had been in poor health, came out of the inner room while suppressing a cough.
Muzan's pupils contracted as soon as he saw the extremely thin-looking man.
The familiar sunflower-shaped earrings swayed gently on either side of Tanjuro.
Muzan's body trembled slightly, and the face that appeared in his mind suddenly turned murderous intent.
Shugo pressed down on Muzan's hand to soothe him and began a mental exchange.
Muzan: [Who is he?!]
Shugo: [Tanjuro Kamado, a descendant of Yoriichi's friend Tanjiro, inherited Yoriichi's Sun Breathing technique and earrings.]
Muzan: [You knew it all along! (??へ??╬)]
Hiiragi: 【(* ̄︶ ̄), I've brought you here for treatment】
Muzan: [I'm not sick!]
Shugo: [Don't be shy about practicing medicine. Your problem is psychological. Control your emotions. He just looks a lot like Yoriichi Tsugikuni. He's not Yoriichi Tsugikuni. After a few more visits, you won't have an allergic reaction anymore.]
Muzan: [Kill him? I won't! (╬☉д⊙)]
Hiirago: [Calm down! 】
Kui Zhi, standing to the side, found it strange that she hadn't said anything for so long.
As soon as Kamado Tanjuro came out, he saw these two guys who were clearly not human.
Tanjuro:......
Tanjuro abruptly spoke up, "Aoi, take a look at Tanjiro. He seems to have pimples on his body."
Having been married for many years, Aoi quickly understood that this was a way of getting rid of her. Besides, she had just checked on Tanjiro and he was perfectly fine. She bowed to the guest and left.
"What's the matter with you two?"
Tanjuro looked at the moving corpse and the monster with five brains and seven hearts in front of him and asked a question very politely.
"You figured it out? What are we?"
Shugo read a certain meaning from Tanjuro's face and asked the question very directly.
Muzan: ?
“Corpses, five brains and seven hearts, you are monsters.” Tanjuro said in a flat tone what he could see.
"Has he already awakened to the all-encompassing world at this point?"
Shugo sighed. He had miscalculated; he didn't remember much about the protagonist's father.
"Then let's be frank and open with each other."
Shugo replied bluntly, "We are enemies with Mr. Yamada, whom you met. We're here to see if you'll join them in fighting us."
Tanjuro looked warily at Muzan, whose aura was oppressive, and shook his head, saying, "I have already refused Mr. Yamada. I do not wish to join the Demon Slayer Corps."
"Is that so?" Shugo smiled and continued, "That's true. You have a wife and children, unlike them, who are all single and dream about killing demons all day long."
Shugo truly doesn't understand how the Demon Slayer Corps can continue and cause trouble when there are no more demons to kill.
Tanjuro paused, his calm and unwavering gaze fixed on Shugo.
He realized that this man, who looked like a corpse, was in charge, and he also understood the implied meaning in the other party's words.
Consider these gifts as our uninvited apology.
Just as Tanjuro was about to refuse, Shugo interrupted him.
"These are all tonics to replenish qi and blood, and baby food. Mr. Zaomen's wife just gave birth, and his son was just born. They need to nourish their bodies. Please don't refuse. I can't feel at ease if you don't accept them."
This made it impossible for Tanjuro, who loved his family dearly, to refuse, and he eventually accepted the gift.
"Once you accept the gift, we're friends."
Shugo then gave a concluding remark with a smile, also hoping to mooch a dinner.
"These are all wild vegetables from the local area; you probably won't like them."
Upon hearing Shugo's request, Aoi looked troubled and responded with a hint of apology.
"I'm so sorry, these vegetables are all wild greens picked from nearby, so they might not taste very good. I'm afraid you, such a distinguished guest, might not be used to them."
Clearly, both of them were important figures, judging from their attire and demeanor. The simple meal I could offer was certainly insufficient to meet their usual high standards.
However, to Aoi's surprise, Shugo did not change his mind because of her words.
Instead, he maintained his gentle smile and said softly, "It's okay, it's good to try something new once in a while, just treat it as a different experience!"
His tone was relaxed and natural, as if he were genuinely curious and looking forward to those wild vegetables.
At the dinner table, Shugo stared thoughtfully at the food on his plate, then pretended to eat a few bites to get by.
Tanjuro watched silently, speculating that demons couldn't eat human food.
After that, Hiiragi Gosei dragged Muzan, who had remained silent, away from the Kamado family home.
Not long after he left, Muzan, who had been suppressing his murderous intent and rage, erupted.

One way to eliminate the Demon Slayer Corps: Muzan could hide somewhere for hundreds of years, and the Demon Slayer Corps would automatically disband.
Muzan seems like a pitiful wife who has to protect her husband's image in public while also tolerating him.
