Chapter 207: Veronica’s Training (02)
Veronica listened to Alice’s words and thought them over carefully.
Restricting the flow of mana to force it out in a more concentrated form, thereby increasing its speed.
It was the same principle used to build pressure in a hose, and Alice had been teaching her this for a few weeks now.
Still, she’d been having quite a bit of trouble with it.
"Don’t feel pressured; you’ve only been studying for two months. On the rest of the continent, many noble children study magic for five or six years before they’re introduced to more refined notions of mana control, like this one."
Ethan’s voice echoed behind Veronica, making her shiver from head to toe.
Her face flushed intensely, and she almost lost control of her mana for a moment.
"Calm down, dear. I also want to throw myself into husband’s arms right now, but we can’t collapse every time we see him, can we? Hehe~" Alice gave a mischievous giggle to her apprentice, who shuddered yet again.
"I-it’s not what you’re thinking, I just..." Veronica fell silent, then forced her eyes back into focus.
Lord Ethan was watching her now. She couldn’t let him down!
As she pointed her hand toward Alice, a fireball appeared before her, crackling unsteadily in the warm air.
At first, it trembled and wavered, but little by little, Veronica brought it under control, shaping it into a perfect sphere before firing it.
A shockwave rippled out around her, pushing her body back a pace.
Her ample breasts bounced gently with the sudden movement, the soft flesh jiggling within the snug embrace of her dress.
The fireball shot forward at a speed far greater than any before, flattening as it tore through the air and trailing flames behind it, until it slammed into the barrier protecting Alice with a thunderous explosion.
Alice didn’t even flinch, all the power dissipating against her barrier like waves crashing against a rock.
Still, a sweet smile played on her lips.
That was too fast and too powerful for any second-stage warrior to react to.
Even a weak third-stage expert could end up injured if they took that fireball head-on.
She was very happy with Veronica’s progress, and equally happy to finally have an apprentice of her own.
"Perfect!" Alice clapped her hands, her eyes shining with pride. "Now it’s my turn. Defend yourself!"
In the next moment, a fireball appeared beside Alice, and then another, and another, and another.
Soon, over a hundred fireballs hovered around her, each one perfectly formed, each one infinitely more powerful than Veronica’s.
"Hey, that’s cheating! I only attacked with one, Master!" Veronica complained, her face full of indignation.
Although she was the same age as Alice, she no longer had any trouble addressing her as Master.
Alice was, honestly, the most incredible woman Veronica had ever met.
She was totally devoted to her husband, trained like no other, and always sought to make him happy.
Hearing Veronica’s protest, Alice laughed sweetly and dispelled her spell with a lazy wave of her delicate hands.
She took a step forward and made a slight gesture with her finger.
"Did you forget what I said before? Never let your guard down."
The next moment, the world spun around Veronica in a dizzying blur. Her body landed butt-first on the floor with a heavy thud, the impact traveling up through her hips and sending her ample breasts bouncing wildly within her dress.
They surged up and back down again and again, the strained fabric quivering with each weighty rebound, until at last the seams could no longer hold back such abundance.
There was a soft sound of stitches giving way, and it was a beautiful sight to behold those pale, generous mounds spilling free from the dress that had been holding them so tightly.
They jiggled for several seconds before slowly settling, the soft pink nipples stiffening the instant the cool air brushed against them.
Veronica blushed immediately, her delicate hands flying up to cover her breasts as a high-pitched squeal escaped her lips.
She turned her face stiffly toward Ethan, who stood frozen in place.
He saw everything, didn’t he?
Veronica felt like she was about to die of a heart attack.
"It’s okay," Ethan said, his voice calm. "They’re beautiful."
Veronica froze for a moment, the grip of her hands on her breasts tightening as the blush on her cheeks grew deeper and deeper.
"B-beautiful?... do you really think so?" she asked, taking a full second to realize the absurdity of her own question.
"Yes, he does!" Alice stepped in front of Veronica, using magic to repair her dress and cover her breasts again.
"I’m so sorry, Veronica, I just wanted to give you a harmless warning, I didn’t expect that... well..." Alice looked away, her voice faltering.
She had genuinely just been joking, using the opportunity to teach Veronica an important lesson.
In the end, she’d only managed to embarrass her.
It was hard for Alice not to feel guilty, her heart heavy.
"It’s okay... as long as the Lord liked it..." Veronica replied, trembling, looking away and blushing even more as she remembered that Ethan was still listening to everything.
"Go get some rest, darling. I’m going to borrow Alice for a moment," Ethan said, approaching Veronica as he recalled an item he’d won from his common gacha tickets the last time he’d opened them.
A beautiful necklace with a ruby pendant.
Pulling the necklace from the system inventory, he stepped closer to Veronica, who shuddered again at his approach.
"M-my Lord, I..." Veronica’s words died in her throat as she felt Ethan’s strong hands slide the necklace around her neck, his fingers carefully brushing aside her long red hair, the warmth of his touch lingering against her skin as he fastened the clasp at the back of her neck.
"Consider this an apology, okay? Your dignity is greater and more important than this."
Veronica’s heart raced as she looked down, seeing the sparkling ruby nestled snugly in the soft valley between her ample breasts.
It was a beautiful jewel, the most beautiful she had ever seen.
Ethan couldn’t hide his surprise when Veronica’s loyalty and approval rating reached ninety-eight percent.
That surprise grew even more when Veronica leaned toward him, planting a soft kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you so much, Lord Ethan!"
Without hesitation, she got to her feet and rushed out of the Arena.
Ethan stood stunned for a moment, his eyes fixed on the rhythmic bounce of Veronica’s ass as she fled, the full, round cheeks rolling beneath her dress with every hurried step.
She was a lovely woman, like his Alice, and, like his Alice, she deserved all the protection in the world.
Straightening up, he turned his gaze to Alice, who was still blushing.
"Don’t feel bad, darling. You’re a good teacher, and, well, the problem is the quality of that fabric. I’ll have Ron buy better-quality dresses for you all when summer comes." Ethan smiled as he wrapped Alice in a hug.
"How’s Veronica’s progress going?"
