Chapter 215 You Killed Me

Chapter 215 You Killed Me

Even when facing life and death together, Shen Feiwan was not so ungrateful.

After she jumped down, she kept an eye on the room, afraid that the two assassins would suddenly discover their escape and rush out with guns.

So as soon as Bo Junxing came down, she pulled him against the wall.

"You really didn't leave a car around here?" she asked in a low voice, her eyes scanning the surroundings warily.

Bo Junxing glanced down at her, his tone unhurried, "To prevent you from escaping, I didn't leave a car."

“Alright…” Shen Feiwan’s gaze settled on the black SUV not far away. “Perfect, there’s no other car here. Let’s drive their car away.”

As she spoke, she suddenly turned her head and asked Bo Junxing, "Do you know how to steal cars?"

Bo Junxing raised an eyebrow. "Sorry, I don't know how."

He paused deliberately and said, "But you seem to know it very well."

Shen Feiwan was speechless at his words, a hint of annoyance flashing in her eyes. She mimicked his sarcastic tone, "Then I'm sorry, I can't."

Bo Junxing said unhurriedly, "Don't be angry. Maybe they didn't even take the car keys out of the ignition." As he spoke, he brushed the snow off his shoulder with his long fingers, his posture as relaxed as if he were talking about the weather.

Shen Feiwan glared at him angrily, "You're so unhurried."

Bo Junxing replied matter-of-factly, his gaze falling on her face, his tone light and casual, "Of course, they're not trying to kill me."

Shen Feiwan was so angry at his attitude that she kicked him. "You didn't hire these two assassins, did you?"

"What do you think? What would I want from them? Your corpse?" With that, Bo Junxing bent down, preparing to walk towards the black SUV.

Shen Feiwan grabbed his hat and pulled him behind her, then ducked down and scrambled out first.

She moved swiftly along the ground like an agile feline, and in the blink of an eye, she was beside the SUV.

Bo Junxing glanced at her back, but he didn't stop either; he kept a watchful eye on his surroundings.

The two assassins inside the house probably hadn't realized they had escaped yet and were still searching inside. Bo Junxing quickly ran to the passenger side of the SUV, opened the door, and got in.

As soon as Bo Junxing sat in the passenger seat, his eyes fell on the car keys. "I told you they hadn't taken the car keys out of the ignition."

Shen Feiwan didn't even glance at him. She jerked the steering wheel with her right hand and pushed the gear lever all the way with her left. The engine roared, and the SUV shot off like an enraged beast.

"Fasten your seatbelt." She said this simultaneously with pressing the accelerator.

As Bo Junxing's back slammed heavily against the seat, the assassin who had chased him out of the house upon hearing the noise in the rearview mirror had already become two black dots, and the sound of several gunshots was swallowed up by the engine.

Shen Feiwan gripped the steering wheel tightly, her eyes scanning the snowy road ahead, and asked Bo Junxing, "Which way should I go? You should know this godforsaken place better than I do, right?"

Bo Junxing loosened his grip on the handrail and said in a deep voice, "You should drive in the opposite direction; that's the way we came from. I'm completely unfamiliar with this direction."

"…………" Shen Feiwan pursed her lips and didn't speak. She wanted to say why you didn't say so earlier, but then she thought that she hadn't actually asked, so she swallowed her words back.

But then she pulled her phone out of her pocket, unlocked it with her fingerprint, and quickly tossed it onto Bo Junxing's lap, saying, "Let's see if there's any internet, and turn on some navigation."

Bo Junxing glanced down at the phone on his lap, but didn't even move his fingers. "There's no internet here."

"Would it kill you to try?" Shen Feiwan glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, her eyebrows curving into a sharp arc.

Bo Junxing twitched the corner of his mouth. "It's the same no matter how hard I try."

"Then why don't you try it! What if it works? Why is it so hard to talk to you?"

"Fine, then I'll make you give up." Bo Junxing sneered as he picked up his phone, slender fingers swiping across the screen a few times before holding it up to Shen Feiwan's face. "See? The phone is right here; it's just a piece of scrap metal."

Shen Feiwan was furious. "Get away from me! Can't you see I'm driving? It's all your fault for bringing me to this lousy place!"

Bo Junxing slowly put his phone away. "I did choose the location, that's right. But you're the one who started this, don't try to deny it."

Shen Feiwan didn't bother to reply, her gaze fixed on the increasingly thick snow ahead and the increasingly dense forest in the distance. "There's no road ahead, just trees."

Bo Junxing turned his head to look at her. "Oh? Then what do you suggest we do?"

"Oh?" Shen Feiwan rolled her eyes. "Oh my ass. Two choices. One, get out of the car and run on foot through the freezing snow; two, drive back and take the route you know well."

Bo Junxing chuckled, while simultaneously raising his hand to grip the handle above the car door. "It seems you've made your decision."

Shen Feiwan pursed her lips and suddenly turned the steering wheel all the way to the floor.

The tires screeched on the snow, and the rear of the vehicle swept across two dead trees. With a crisp cracking sound as the tree trunks snapped, the off-road vehicle completed a near-violent U-turn.

Looking at the huge tree branch that had bounced off the car window, Bo Junxing narrowed his eyes. "Luckily, this car is in good condition. Otherwise, it would have been this car that crashed."

Shen Feiwan finally glanced at him sideways and said, "I just realized you talk so much nonsense."

Bo Junxing's lips curled into a smile. "This is only for when I'm mocking you. It's my special skill."

"Then I should thank you." Shen Feiwan squeezed out the words through gritted teeth, while flooring the accelerator.

As the SUV sped off, she added, "You better pray that the glass is bulletproof, or you might get your head blown off."

Bo Junxing turned to look at her, "Are you really hoping for my death?"

As he spoke, he suddenly reached out and pressed his hand on the steering wheel. "How about I take over driving?"

"Get lost," Shen Feiwan said without any politeness, slapping his hand hard. "Are you sure your driving skills are better than mine?"

Bo Junxing said seriously, "I'm afraid you won't dare to run over them later."

Before he could finish speaking, the engine suddenly let out a whistle and stalled completely.

He raised an eyebrow at Shen Feiwan, "What, scared now?"

He placed his finger on the door handle. "Get out of the car."

Shen Feiwan slammed on the gas pedal twice, but the engine only made a few weak, muffled noises.

She leaned back and tapped the center console with her fingertips. "It's time to get out of the car, but things aren't as optimistic as you think."

She squinted. "I didn't park the car."

Bo Junxing's hand, which was opening the car door, paused. "What do you mean?"

“This is a modified smart car,” Shen Feiwan pointed to the central control screen. “It’s being remotely controlled.”

Bo Junxing leaned over to check, and a red warning flashed on the screen: [Vehicle has moved out of safe distance, locked]

He swiped quickly across the screen, his brow furrowing deeper and deeper. "It's completely locked."

“Those two assassins definitely have terminal controllers on them.” Shen Feiwan unbuckled her seatbelt, the metal buckle snapping against the seat. “We’ll be located soon.”

As she spoke, she suddenly glared at Bo Junxing, "This time, you're really going to get me killed."

Bo Junxing chuckled. "I'm the one who got killed by you, right?"

Shen Feiwan glared at him and reached for the car door. "What's the point of saying all this now?"

The car door didn't budge. She snorted, "This car is scrap metal now."

"Luckily, I unlocked this side manually just now." Bo Junxing slowly pressed the lock on his side, and the car door made a soft "click" sound.

Shen Feiwan smirked, "Heh, you're not entirely useless after all."

After she finished speaking, she quickly squeezed through the gap between the seats into the back seat, ready to see what useful things were in the trunk.

Seeing her nimbly climb into the back seat, Bo Junxing opened the car door and stepped out, saying, "I'll meet you outside."

Instead of Shen Feiwan's voice, he was met with a series of flying backpacks—a shoulder bag, a tote bag, and even a canvas bag whose contents were unknown—all of which landed precisely at his feet.

Shen Feiwan rummaged through the trunk for a while, and after confirming that there was nothing useful, she did not come out immediately.

She climbed back to the front of the car and crouched down, fiddling with something.

Bo Junxing frowned as he watched her retreating figure. "What are you doing?"

"Smash them." She didn't look up, her voice muffled as it came from inside the car. "If I can't drive it, they can't either."

Bo Junxing raised an eyebrow and silently tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Then hurry up, or they'll catch up with you."

"Don't rush me, okay?" After a while, Shen Feiwan clapped her hands, jumped out of the car, and casually threw the pliers into the snow. "Done."

The two quickly rummaged through their backpacks, throwing away anything unnecessary to lighten the load.

Shen Feiwan weighed the remaining supplies in her hand and sighed, "It's a pity we don't have guns, otherwise we could go back and give it a shot."

After saying that, she looked up at Bo Junxing and asked again, "Are you really not familiar with this place? Then how did you get this house?"

Bo Junxing picked up his luggage bag and said in a calm tone, "You might not believe it, but this house was given to me by a classmate to pay off a debt. The last time I came here was in the summer, and it didn't look like this."

Shen Feiwan took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to roll her eyes; her eyes were sore from rolling them all day.

She asked Bo Junxing in a cold voice, "So what brilliant ideas do you have now?"

Bo Junxing looked around and said, "In this snow-capped mountain area, let's go downhill to avoid accidentally wandering into the deep mountains."

Shen Feiwan retorted, "This place is flat as a rock, do you know which side is low-lying?"

"South." He took the initiative to sling the heavier backpack over his shoulder and then picked up a duffel bag, saying, "You come with me."

Shen Feiwan didn't move. She carefully observed the surrounding environment and confirmed that the direction Bo Junxing had found was indeed south before she started walking.

However, she did not immediately follow Bo Junxing. Instead, she squatted down, broke off a few branches, and tied them to the soles of her shoes. "The snow is too thick and it's too easy to leave footprints. We can't leave any footprints."

Bo Junxing nodded, "Then I'll step on a string of stones in the opposite direction to mislead them. You can also walk around."

Shen Feiwan paused in tying the tree branches. "That works too."

The two acted swiftly, quickly setting up a decoy, and then turned and headed south.
