Chapter 322
Chapter 322
Shen Feiwan's gaze lingered for a moment on Lin Xiaoyan's slightly furrowed brows, then she raised her hand and gently stroked his cheek with her fingertips.
Her movements seemed gentle, but her thumb pressed subtly against his chin, turning his face toward her with an irresistible force.
“Your face is wet with rain,” she said softly, her fingertips tracing his cheekbone down to his chin as if wiping a precious piece of porcelain.
Lin Xiaoyan took the opportunity to grab her wrist and lowered his head to place a light kiss on her palm.
He then firmly supported Shen Feiwan's waist with his other hand, and the two of them got into the car one after the other.
The wheels rolled through the puddles and quickly disappeared at the end of the street.
In the black sedan across the street, Song Yanzhou sighed heavily, "See? How intimate they are. They're such a loving couple."
Bo Junxing stared at the departing taillights, his brows furrowed. "I was even closer to her just now."
Song Yanzhou felt that she would be driven crazy by Bo Junxing sooner or later. "Do you have to see them in bed before you wake up? Driver, drive!"
The back seat of the Maybach.
Lin Xiaoyan placed Shen Feiwan's hand on his lap, his fingertips lightly stroking her knuckles. "Are you tired?"
Shen Feiwan glanced at him, thought for a moment, and then rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm tired. My face is stiff from smiling. Can we not go to these kinds of events next time?"
Lin Xiaoyan chuckled softly, lightly tapping her nose with his index finger. "This is a duty you must fulfill as Mrs. Lin. Do you really want me to be accompanied by other women at these kinds of events in the future?"
"Would you do that?" Shen Feiwan didn't look up.
"If you're with me, I certainly won't do that."
"..." Shen Feiwan had nothing to say. To avoid saying anything that would upset Lin Xiaoyan, she simply closed her eyes. "I'm so tired, I'll take a nap first."
As soon as Shen Feiwan closed her eyes, Lin Xiaoyan's warm lips covered hers, pressing against her eyelids repeatedly, refusing to let her rest properly.
Shen Feiwan frowned subconsciously, and was about to speak when Lin Xiaoyan's voice rang out first.
"You slept all day, are you really that tired now?"
As Lin Xiaoyan spoke, he pinched her chin. Although his grip was light, it carried an unyielding strength that left no room for escape.
Shen Feiwan opened her eyes and met his probing gaze. "What's with that tone? Can't you be sleepy now that you've slept all day?"
Lin Xiaoyan had a gentle smile on his lips, but there was no smile in his eyes. "You said you were going to the terrace for some fresh air halfway through, but when I went to look for you, you weren't there."
He stroked her chin with his thumb. "You don't answer my calls."
"Didn't I tell you when I answered your call later?" Shen Feiwan turned her head casually, breaking free from his grip. "I went to the bathroom, and my phone was in my bag, so I didn't hear it."
Lin Xiaoyan's gaze slowly moved down, landing on her half-dry skirt. "How long did you stay on the terrace?"
Shen Feiwan followed his gaze and understood.
He must have noticed that her clothes were wet, and if she answers now that she was only on the terrace for a short while, it will inevitably give her away.
She replied, "For a while. At first the rain wasn't heavy, but then it got heavier and heavier, soaking my clothes. So I went to the bathroom to dry myself off and then used the toilet. What's wrong? What are you suspecting me of?"
Instead of answering, Lin Xiaoyan asked, "Is there something you're afraid I'll suspect tonight, Wanwan?"
The car was silent for a moment, with only the sound of rain hitting the windows.
Shen Feiwan looked at him silently, her eyelashes casting small shadows under her eyes.
She knew Lin Xiaoyan's methods; if he wanted to investigate, he couldn't hide the fact that Bo Junxing was at the meeting.
So lying to him was a bad idea, but the surveillance video on the hotel terrace needed to be dealt with. After weighing the pros and cons, she went straight to the point.
"You mean the car that was opposite when you first got on the bus, right?"
Lin Xiaoyan raised an eyebrow slightly. "Oh? I don't know. Tell me."
“The person in the car looks like my ex-husband.” Shen Feiwan looked directly into his eyes. “Perhaps he was also among those invited today.”
"So you two met?"
"No." She sneered. "You think I went to the terrace to see him? What do you think I would do with him, have an affair? If I had feelings for him, why would I have divorced him in the first place? Lin Xiaoyan, don't forget we even have a child together. My brother is counting on you for his affairs. Do you think I'm that stupid?"
"Of course you're not stupid," Lin Xiaoyan chuckled.
"I'm angry." Shen Feiwan deliberately turned her face away, pretending to be angry.
The next second she was pulled into a warm embrace.
Lin Xiaoyan's breath enveloped her. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault." He kissed the top of her head. "Don't be angry, it's not good for you and the baby."
Shen Feiwan feigned a complaint, "You only cherish the baby you've never even met."
Lin Xiaoyan chuckled softly, "How could that be? You're clearly my most precious one."
"Humph."
"Don't be angry anymore, okay?"
Shen Feiwan nestled into his arms, knowing that only then would Lin Xiaoyan quiet down. "We'll see how you behave. Don't bother me before we get home, I'm so sleepy."
Lin Xiaoyan stroked her long hair. "Hmm, I won't disturb you. Pregnant women just like to sleep."
