Li Yan looked at the message, feeling conflicted.
She bit her lip, thought for a moment, and replied, "A friend of mine is coming over, and I have to entertain them at home. I really can't leave."
Gu Suiwan was still unwilling to give up. She rolled her eyes and sent another message: "Sister Liyan, how about we go out tomorrow or the day after tomorrow?"
Li Yan looked at her phone and sighed helplessly.
As she replied, she unconsciously moved her injured area, causing her to wince slightly in pain.
"It's almost the end of the year, and it might be inconvenient for you these next few days, sister."
Gu Suiwan became even more curious after seeing this message.
She sat up straight, her eyes glued to her phone screen, and quickly typed, "Sister Liyan, are you hiding something from me? You seem a bit off."
Li Yan felt a pang of panic; she hadn't expected Gu Suiwan to be so perceptive.
She rubbed her hands nervously, hesitated for a moment, and replied, "No, what could possibly be wrong with my sister?"
However, when she was sending it, she accidentally pressed the wrong key. She meant to send "Sister is busy", but instead sent "Sister is injured and can't make it convenient".
When Gu Suiwan saw this message, her eyes widened instantly, and her face was full of worry.
She quickly replied, "Sister Liyan, are you injured? What happened? Is it serious?"
When Li Yan saw that she had sent the wrong message, she slapped her forehead in frustration.
Knowing she couldn't hide it any longer, she replied, "It's late in the year, and I just accidentally got a minor injury. It's nothing serious, so don't worry."
Gu Suiwan, however, did not think so. She frowned and felt anxious.
She replied immediately: "Sister Liyan, I want to come see you. You rest well at home, I'm coming right now."
When Li Yan saw Gu Suiwan's message, her heart warmed, but she still replied, "Suiwan, it's no need. My sister is really fine. You don't need to make a special trip."
Gu Suiwan was very determined. She had already jumped out of bed and started changing her clothes.
"Sister Liyan, I must come to see you, please don't refuse me."
Seeing Gu Suiwan's insistence, Li Yan had no choice but to agree.
"Alright then, let's meet at three o'clock this afternoon."
Gu Suiwan replied happily, "Okay, Sister Li Yan, see you this afternoon."

She picked it up and saw that it was a call from her supervisor.
Her tutor was a very strict person; his voice sounded serious and unquestionable on the phone.
"Gu Suiwan, come to the lab right now. There's an urgent project that needs your help."
Gu Suiwan was stunned for a moment, her face full of helplessness and anxiety.
She said into the phone, "Professor, I have something to do today, could you please ask me to speak to someone else?"
The mentor's voice rose a few decibels: "Gu Suiwan, this project is very important, and time is of the essence. You must come."
Gu Suiwan sighed helplessly; she couldn't refuse her mentor.
She had no choice but to send a message to Li Yan: "Sister Li Yan, I'm sorry, my supervisor suddenly conscripted me, so I can't come to see you."
Li Yan was tidying up at home when she saw Gu Suiwan's message. She smiled and replied, "It's okay, Suiwan. Studies are important. I understand you."
Gu Suiwan still felt guilty and sent another message: "Sister Liyan, I'll come find you when I'm done with my work."
Li Yan replied, "Okay, it's almost New Year's Eve, you go ahead and do your thing."
