Zhou Xinyu had just finished a meeting and was about to leave the conference room when he received a call from his mother, who asked him to have dinner with her at a certain restaurant after work.
He initially refused, thinking that Xue Ruowei was still waiting for him at home, but Zhou's mother made a harsh statement: if he couldn't even have a meal alone with her outside, then he shouldn't call her "Mom" anymore.
Since Zhou's mother had already said so much, Zhou Xinyu had no choice but to compromise.
After calling Xue Ruowei and telling her about it, Zhou Xinyu drove to the restaurant his mother had mentioned.
"Mom, why are we eating out? And it's just the two of us?" Zhou Xinyu asked as soon as he sat down. He didn't understand and was a little unhappy.
Zhou's mother sighed and said, "I'm not in a good mood."
"Did you argue with Dad again?" Zhou Xinyu's tone softened.
"Yes." Zhou's mother nodded, her face somber.
Zhou Xinyu knew that his parents' relationship was not very good, so he stopped showing a bad attitude, picked up his knife and fork, and began to eat the dinner that his mother had ordered for him.
During the meal, Zhou Xinyu said many comforting words to his mother, who just sighed and rarely spoke, but would occasionally put food on his plate and urge him to eat more.
"This tea tree mushroom and old duck soup is specially ordered by Mom to nourish your body. You've been working so hard lately, so you should drink more of it to help your body recover."
As she spoke, Zhou's mother served Zhou Xinyu another bowl of tea tree mushroom and old duck soup.
Zhou Xinyu had already drunk two bowls of soup and eaten a lot of vegetables, so he was quite full. However, his mother had placed the soup in front of him and was looking at him expectantly. He knew that she was concerned about him and could not bear to refuse her kindness, so he picked up the spoon and slowly drank the soup.

Zhou Xinyu assumed that his mother was just happy to see him being obedient and didn't think much of it.

"Mom, what kind of soup is this that you gave me? Why do I feel so hot all over?" Zhou Xinyu asked his mother while taking off his coat.
He was all too familiar with this feeling of heat, so why was this happening?

"This is tea tree mushroom and old duck soup," Zhou's mother said with a smile, looking completely harmless.
If it were just regular tea tree mushroom and old duck soup, he wouldn't have this feeling after drinking it; something must have been added to the soup.
Zhou Xinyu tugged at his shirt collar and glared at his mother: "Mom, did you put something else in this soup?"
Zhou's mother smiled but said nothing.

Zhou Xinyu wanted to ask his mother why she did this, but he knew that now was not the time to ask that question; he should leave as soon as possible.
After glaring angrily at his mother, Zhou Xinyu grabbed his coat, stood up, and rushed out.
He wanted to go home, to return to Ruowei's side.
But then Zhou's mother's voice came from behind him: "Xinyu, you can't go home to find Ruowei in this state. Ruowei is about to give birth, she can't help you."
Zhou Xinyu did not stop because of his mother's words. Of course he knew that Ruowei was about to give birth and could not do that kind of thing, but Ruowei was also a doctor and she knew how to help him.
Before Zhou Xinyu could get into the car, his mother caught up with him and grabbed him, saying, "Xinyu, how can you drive in this condition? Let Mom drive."
"Get away from me, I don't have a mother like you." Zhou Xinyu pushed his mother, but not hard enough to knock her to the ground.
Knowing he was just saying it out of anger, Zhou's mother steadied herself and then reached out to grab Zhou Xinyu's arm: "Xinyu, you really can't drive in the state you're in right now."
Zhou Xinyu tried to push his mother away again, but a sudden surge of intense heat overwhelmed him. He hurriedly withdrew his hand. He couldn't touch any woman right now; the more he touched a woman, the worse the situation would become.
With no other option, Zhou Xinyu opened the back door and climbed into the car.
Seeing this, Zhou's mother was overjoyed. She opened the driver's side door and got in.
"Take me home, or I'll never forgive you for the rest of my life."
Behind them came Zhou Xinyu's angry, panting voice. Zhou's mother didn't take it seriously, but she readily agreed, "Okay, okay, I'll take you home."
As the car started, Zhou Xinyu leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and tried to suppress the burning sensation within him.
A few minutes later, Zhou's mother's voice rang out again in the car: "Xinyu, are you really going home? Let me remind you, Ruowei is a doctor, but are you sure you can control yourself when she's treating you? I advise you to find a hotel, lock yourself in your room, and take a cold shower."
Zhou Xinyu clenched his fist, and after a long while, gritted his teeth and said, "Take me to the hotel."
The burning sensation within him grew stronger and stronger. In his current state, if he saw Ruowei, he would lose control of himself and hurt her.

Hearing Zhou Xinyu's words, Zhou's mother was overjoyed and immediately stepped on the gas. Soon, the car stopped in front of a hotel.
"Xinyu, the room has been booked. Would you like to go up yourself, or..."

After asking the front desk for a room key, Zhou's mother walked out of the hotel and headed towards a red BMW parked outside.
After finishing dinner, Xue Ruowei lingered at the door, waiting for Zhou Xinyu to return.
Seeing Zhou Xinyu's car drive in from afar, a smile involuntarily appeared on his face.
Xinyu is back.
Xue Ruowei walked over with a smile to greet him, but saw that it was Zhou's mother who got out of the driver's seat, not Zhou Xinyu. Moreover, only Zhou's mother got out of the car.

He said he had some urgent work matters to attend to and went back to the company.
