Chapter 17 Even your prince would find it distasteful.
Su Mowan caught a glimpse of Murong Jing's indifferent expression, and her heart was in turmoil.
Does this prince truly despise her from the bottom of his heart?
She took a deep breath, deciding not to stoop to the level of someone with a disability. "If Your Highness is not satisfied, how about I go back and tidy myself up again?"
Murong Jing coldly snorted, "Why bother? No matter how much you try to fix it, it'll only end up like this."
Su Mowan felt a surge of annoyance, but still forced a smile: "In that case, so as not to disturb Your Highness, I'll get in the carriage and wait."
After saying that, she lifted her skirt and strode confidently toward the last carriage. Qinghe and Yinshuang exchanged glances, hesitated for a moment, and then followed.
Not long after, Shen Muyue walked out gracefully. She was dressed in a honey-pink gown, her hair adorned with jewels, and her earrings and necklace sparkled. She looked like a blooming peony, delicate and beautiful.
Murong Jing glanced at them coldly, his face expressionless.
Hiding behind the car window, Su Mowan was furious. This treatment was so unfair! She was dressed much more appropriately and elegantly, and she had several more hairpins than Shen Muyue. Why couldn't she catch the prince's eye?
Su Mowan slammed the window shut with a loud bang. Qinghe and Yinshuang exchanged glances, not daring to breathe.
Outside the carriage, Shen Muyue, accompanied by her two maids Caiwei and Caihong, gracefully approached Murong Jing's side, curtsied slightly, and said softly, "This concubine greets Your Highness. I apologize for keeping you waiting."
Murong Jing responded expressionlessly, as if he hadn't noticed her charming expression: "Let's go."
Shen Muyue's smile froze for a moment, but she quickly recovered and sweetly replied, "Yes, Your Highness."
After Shen Muyue boarded the second carriage, Murong Jing gently raised his hand to Feng Yue beside him, indicating that they could set off.
Inside the carriage, Caiwei patted her chest and muttered softly, "Miss, the Prince's demeanor was truly terrifying. I stood there, not daring to even breathe."
Caihong chimed in, "That's right, Miss. The Prince's face was absolutely terrifying."
Upon hearing this, Shen Muyue gently stroked the hair ornament in her hair and snorted disdainfully.
"You two are really too naive. Learn from those two around Su Mowan, and don't embarrass our Left Prime Minister's residence."
“Miss, those two are different. They are originally from the Prince Qin’s mansion, not the maids Su Mowan brought from the General’s mansion as part of her dowry,” Caiwei said, sounding aggrieved.
Shen Muyue's hand immediately stopped on the hair ornament.
"What did you say?"
Caiwei explained with an embarrassed smile, "I found this out from Yulan and Yumei this morning."
Yulan and Yumei are the two maids who were recently assigned to Shen Muyue's side.
Shen Muyue narrowed her eyes: "No wonder that girl was so bold, daring to gossip behind people's backs. Turns out she has quite a background."
“That’s right, Miss. They’re from the Prince’s mansion, so naturally they look down on us.” Caihong muttered resentfully from the side.
"Hmph, so what if they're from the Prince's mansion? If they anger me, I'll make sure they regret it."
In another carriage, Qinghe was trying to dissuade them.
"Consort Su, you mustn't remove this hairpin! It'll be a problem if your hair comes undone later."
Su Mowan ignored him and quickly pulled out several hairpins.
"You even lied to me about showing off your prince's favor. Even your prince looked down on it, how can I trust you anymore?"
Qinghe was so anxious that she kept stamping her feet. Only after Yinshuang gave her a look did she reluctantly give up.
When they got off the carriage at the palace gate, the look in Murong Jing's eyes was enough to terrify anyone.
He drove his wheelchair closer, his tone full of displeasure as he spoke to Su Mowan.
"Come here to me!"
