Chapter 380 Making Friends
Chapter 380 Making Friends
The two children were about the same age and quickly became familiar with each other on set. Nan Tang took good care of Sui Sui, and wherever Sui Sui went, Nan Tang would always be by her side.
"Try this, it's delicious."
Nan Tang handed a White Rabbit milk candy to Sui Sui. Sui Sui took it and put it in her mouth. The sweet taste burst in her mouth, and she smiled sweetly.
"It tastes delicious, it has a milky flavor."
Sui Sui looked at the candy wrapper, then reached out and handed the small bread from her bag to Nan Tang. Nan Tang took it, swallowed hard, and waved her hand, saying, "Keep it for yourself, I'm not hungry right now."
"You eat it. My mom prepared a lot for me, and I can't finish it all."
Sui Sui stuffed the small bread into Nan Tang's hand. Nan Tang took it, looked at it, tore open the packaging, and ate it bite by bite.
Gradually, Sui Sui noticed that Nan Tang often didn't eat well, her mealtimes were very irregular, and she would arrive at the scene hungry. Sometimes, while playing with her, she would get so tired that she wanted to sleep.
Sui Sui inquired about Nan Tang through others and learned that Nan Tang's parents had always treated him as a cash cow, constantly sucking his blood, and often taking on other jobs while he was filming.
She was very angry and felt sorry for Nan Tang. They were about the same age as her, but Nan Tang had to earn money for her parents and couldn't take care of her own health.
Sui Sui didn't tell Nan Tang about this, but sometimes when she looked at Nan Tang, she couldn't help but feel heartache. Nan Tang noticed something was wrong and smiled at Sui Sui: "Sui Sui, what's wrong? You seem a little down today. Did something happen?"
"Oh, no, I'm fine."
Sui Sui shook her head, wanting to say something but unable to bring herself to say it.
The assistant director ran over and said to Nan Tang, "Nan Tang, your parents are here to pick you up. They want you to get ready to catch your flight."
"Well, I see."
Nan Tang stood up, preparing to retrieve his packed bag. Sui Sui walked over, took his hand, and shook her head at him.
When Nan Tang's parents came looking for her, Sui Sui sat down on the sofa with Nan Tang.
"Nan Tang, didn't I tell you to take your things and wait for us at the door? Why are you sitting here with another girl? Do you know that if you don't leave now, you'll miss your flight and have to pay a penalty for breaking your promise? Hurry up."
Nan Tang's mother came over and reached out to pull Nan Tang, but Sui Sui blocked her way: "Nan Tang isn't going. Can't you see how tired he is? Why make him catch a plane and do other work while he's filming? You don't treat him like your own child at all; you just treat him like a money-making tool."
Seeing the child who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere blaming them, Nan Tang's parents had never been treated like this before. Nan Tang's father stepped forward and pushed Sui Sui away.
"You little brat, what do you know? Get out of the way, Nan Tang, take your things and come with us."
As Nan Tang's father spoke, he reached out to pull her away. Sui Sui was pushed aside and quickly ran over, grabbing Nan Tang's arm and saying, "You can't take him away. You're just bloodsuckers, letting Nan Tang earn the money you're supposed to earn."
"You're really asking for trouble. Let go of me."
Nan Tang's mother stepped forward and reached out to hit Sui Sui, but Sui Sui dodged it. Enraged, she kicked Sui Sui. Seeing this, Nan Tang protected Sui Sui and was kicked in the stomach by her own mother.
"Nan Tang, are you alright?"
Seeing that her parents in Nan Tang were somewhat frightened, Sui Sui shouted loudly, "Help! Someone's going to hit me!"
Nan Tang's parents glared fiercely at Sui Sui and stepped forward to cover her mouth. As soon as they moved, two bodyguards appeared out of nowhere and pinned them to the ground. Nan Tang's parents immediately cowered when they saw their eyes.
The commotion was so loud that it attracted the director who was not far away. The director opened the door and was dumbfounded when he saw the situation inside the room: "Nan Tang's mother, Nan Tang's father, what's going on? And who are you?"
The director looked at the bodyguards who appeared, then at Sui Sui standing next to Nan Tang. Sui Sui pointed directly at Nan Tang's parents.
“They wanted to hit me. Nan Tang was kicked by them while protecting me. My father left me bodyguards; they were there to protect me.”
The parents of Nan Tang, looking at the bodyguards beside them, dared not speak. They had indeed intended to harm Sui Sui just now. Seeing the director, they could only say, "This is all a misunderstanding. This is your newly recruited child actor, right? You've misunderstood us."
Looking at Sui Sui's appearance and then at Nan Tang's parents, the director realized the situation was quite complicated. He immediately notified Ji Jingshen and Song Qianyi. Upon receiving the news, Ji Jingshen and Song Qianyi rushed over, and Sui Sui was taken away by them.
"Mom and Dad, I'm fine. It's Nan Tang that's in trouble."
"Tell me, what exactly happened? I heard from the director that you said your parents in Nan Tang wanted to beat you."
Song Qianyi looked at Sui Sui seriously, wondering what had happened.
Sui Sui told them everything she knew, including what had just happened: "Nan Tang is really pitiful. I saw that he often couldn't eat or sleep well on set. His parents are complete parasites. Can you help him?"
She clung to Song Qianyi's arm, pleading sweetly. Song Qianyi didn't immediately agree, glancing at Sui Sui with some hesitation.
“Sui Sui, we are outsiders. They are the parents of the Southern Tang. We can’t interfere with what they do, and it’s not appropriate for us to meddle.”
Sui Sui pouted: "But Nan Tang is really pitiful. Mom, you and Dad just saw what they looked like. I just told them the truth, and they got so angry that they wanted to hit me."
“I knew they were going to beat you up. If I hadn’t left you a bodyguard, just imagine what would have happened to you today.”
Ji Jingshen stood to the side with a serious expression, very angry at Sui Sui's actions. She didn't realize at all that they were two adults who were decades older than her and were no match for them. If they really fought, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Sui Sui sensed Ji Jingshen's emotions and nodded: "I know I was wrong. It happened so suddenly and I didn't think of a better way. Nan Tang was also injured while protecting me. How could I just leave it to fend for myself?"
They knew that the situation in the Southern Tang Dynasty was indeed heartbreaking, and that the parents were no pushovers either. This kind of situation often occurs with child stars in the entertainment industry. When they see that their children can earn more money after becoming famous, they will continue to exploit them, treating their children as nothing more than tools for making money.
