In the end, the Great Sage broke the rules.

Chapter 201 Obtaining the Wordless Sutra

Chapter 201 Obtaining the Wordless Sutra

"Congratulations! Congratulations! You have shed your mortal form and achieved enlightenment!"

Upon hearing the boatman's words, the master and his disciples showed joy.

Before long, the boat docked at the shore.

Jiang Liuer wanted to thank the boatman, but when he turned around, he found that the boatman had already disappeared.

Sun Wukong explained, "Master, that was the Buddha of Reception from Mount Ling just now. He is none other than the Buddha of Namo Ratnaketu Light."

Jiang Liuer was shocked; the humble boatman was actually a Buddha.

Then came the touching moment. Jiang Liuer thanked his three disciples for their hard work along the way, saying that without them, he would never have been able to reach Mount Ling.

He then knelt down before his three disciples.

The three apprentices quickly reached out to help him up.

"Ouch! Master!"

"Master!"

"Master, you mustn't!"

"Master, what are you saying? Now that you're about to become a Buddha, you're actually becoming distant!"

After the master and his disciples were moved, a miracle occurred. They floated up for no apparent reason and slowly drifted to the front of the Great Hall of Lingjiu Peak.

Sun Wukong was startled and shouted, "Wait! Wait!"

He even brought the little monk with him!

"Let me go back!"

Sun Wukong wanted to return to the shore, but found that his magic had no effect.

His face was dark and gloomy, as if someone owed him eight million.

When Pigsy saw the steamed buns hidden on his body fall out, he quickly reached out to grab them, but unfortunately, he couldn't catch anything.

Buddha said, "This Pigsy came here carrying steamed buns."

Guanyin: "I'm afraid it will be very difficult to let go of greed and ignorance."

The master and his disciples, accompanied by the white horse, entered the main hall.

Five hundred Arhats, three thousand Buddhas, and four great Bodhisattvas were all present on both sides of the Buddhist hall.

The Buddha said: "In the Eastern Land of Jambudvipa, because the sky is high and the earth is vast, and the land is abundant and the people are numerous, there is much greed and killing. People deceive themselves and kill living beings, committing boundless sins. Their souls will be forever condemned to Avici Hell and will never be reborn."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong secretly rolled his eyes.

The Buddha continued, “I have the Tripitaka, which consists of 35 parts, totaling 15,144 volumes. These are the true scriptures of cultivation and the gateway to righteousness, capable of transcending suffering and saving all sentient beings.”

Having said that, he instructed the two Venerable Ananda and Kasyapa to lead the master and his disciples to the Treasure Pavilion to retrieve the scriptures.

Unexpectedly, the Venerable One told Jiang Liuer to put aside worldly affairs before he could go on his pilgrimage.

Jiang Liuer: "This humble monk has not prepared any human affairs along the way."

When Sun Wukong saw that they refused to pass on the scriptures, he insisted on going to the Buddha's place with them to reason with him.

"Are you going to give it to me or not? If not, go see Buddha. I, the Great Sage, want to see what he has to say."

Hearing Sun Wukong say this, the two Venerable Ones had no choice but to turn around and go to retrieve the scriptures for their master and disciple.

After completing their pilgrimage, the white horse carried the scriptures, and the group rode on clouds back eastward.

During their journey, a sudden powerful gust of air pushed them off the mountain.

As the saying goes, every cause has its effect. They landed on the west bank of the Tongtian River, the very place where the old tortoise had carried them there years ago.

Pigsy complained, "It must be because we didn't pay them properly earlier. Those venerable bodhisattvas are deliberately making fun of us."

Sun Wukong's eyes lit up, and he said to Jiang Liuer, "Wait for me!" before disappearing.

The next second he flashed in front of Chen Yi and his son, who were squatting pitifully by the log bridge, clearly waiting for them.

Sun Wukong felt a pang of heartache and quickly pulled the person into his arms.

"Sorry I'm late."

Chen Yi patted Sun Wukong's arm and comforted him, "It's alright, it's alright. Have you finished your pilgrimage?"

"By the way, did you ask the old tortoise in the Tongtian River about asking Buddha?"

Sun Wukong remained silent; they really didn't ask.

Chen Yi sighed helplessly. He should have told Jiang Liuer sooner.

It was he who went to Tongtian River, not Jiang Liuer. Jiang Liuer was unaware of the old turtle's instructions.

Chen Yi: "Let's meet up with Brother Jiang first."

Sun Wukong responded and brought Chen Yi and his son to Jiang Liuer and the others.

Just like before, they all boarded the turtle's back and headed eastward.

Halfway there, the old tortoise remembered asking Tang Sanzang to inquire about the lifespan of beasts in the Buddha's land.

Jiang Liuer looked completely bewildered after hearing this.

Chen Yi looked guilty.

Seeing the master and his disciples stammering, the old tortoise already knew the answer.

In a fit of temper, he swayed and sank into the water, causing all the master and his disciples to fall in as well.

Chen Yi hurriedly threw his son into the space and clung tightly to Sun Wukong with both hands.

Fortunately, he wasn't far from the shore, so even though Jiang Liuer was no longer a mortal, he wouldn't drown.

With the help of his apprentices, he successfully reached the east shore.

They intended to open the scriptures to dry them, but to their surprise, the scriptures were completely empty.

Jiang Liuer held the scriptures, gazing helplessly at the sky.
