Chapter 340: BladeOfSorrow, The Hollow Mountain’s Mechanic
Chapter 340: BladeOfSorrow, The Hollow Mountain’s Mechanic
Seeing that sudden hostile reaction, Leon’s expression darkened a little, and he tightened his grip on his sword in response.
He didn’t want to fight these people because they had been nice to him so far, but if the situation required it and they forced his hand, then so be it.
Leon didn’t know why they would even attack him based solely on his ID, but seeing their leader on edge like this, almost every other member of the group equipped their weapons as well and pointed them at him.
"What do you want from us?" the leader asked with a tense voice, "You are not... needed here... so why don’t you just move along?"
"Holy shit, did he just say Celestial?"
"You mean THE Celestial that everyone has been talking about across the domains?"
"I heard many people talk about him... isn’t he supposed to be crazy strong, like way stronger than normal players?"
"Wait, so the fact that none of us could see his panel earlier is simply because his [Combat Power] is far higher than ours? Even though we’re almost all level ninety here?"
"That means he lied about having a skill that hides his status panel!"
The leader of this group had over five million combat power on his own, and was considered an incredibly strong player by normal standards.
But seeing another being just as powerful as him, if not more, standing right here in the middle of nowhere raised every alarm bell in his head to the maximum level.
Leon on the other hand didn’t care anymore and simply used his skill to inspect the man before him.
Appraisal!

[ID: BladeOfSorrow]
[Level: 92]
[Talent: ???]
[Skills: ???]
[Combat Power: ???]
[Details: Seems to want to protect the members of his group from a threat he deems dangerous.]

The man facing Leon was around 1.8 meters tall and from the undead race, as half of his face was that of a skull with empty eye sockets while the other half had pale skin and a functioning eye.
He wore a powerful-looking uniform that seemed to have some kind of defensive enchantment on it, and in his hand was a curved blade that he pointed directly toward Leon’s chest.
"I don’t think I did anything wrong until now," Leon got up slowly from his seat, causing all the others to have tense expressions on their faces as they watched his every move, "But if you want me to leave, I’ll do it without any trouble."
Since he was surrounded from all sides though and these people seemed ready to attack at any moment, Leon took this opportunity to raise his staff high into the air.
Undead Summoning!
And from the ground around him rose 25 skeletons in total, consisting of fifteen [Undead Warrior] and ten [Undead Mage], all of them glowing with green light in their eyes.
Leon didn’t plan to use them to fight from the very beginning, but if anything happened and these people attacked him, his skeletons could help him hold them off.
Seeing the undead warriors and mages appear from the ground right in front of him, BladeOfSorrow’s singular eye widened with genuine surprise.
"You can actually... control the undead like that, that’s incredibly rare for a human," the man said, his voice filled with curiosity rather than hostility now.
The undead leader snapped his fingers, and from the ground beside him a massive 3-meters tall wolf-like skeleton beast emerged, its bones glowing with a dark purple aura.
It was BladeOfSorrow’s undead pet, something he had clearly bonded with for a long time, so seeing another undead user actually surprised him because it was such a rare specialization.
"Alright, everyone lower your weapons right now," the man groaned at his group members, "I feel like I overreacted a bit, there’s no need for violence."
All of them lowered their weapons slowly, and so did Leon, feeling like the situation had finally calmed down enough to talk properly.
He was about to unsummon his undead skeletons as well to show good faith, but the leader stopped him with a raised hand, "I want to look at them more closely, if you allow it."
"...It’s fine, go ahead," Leon said, not seeing any harm in letting the man examine his summons.
Leon’s undead skeletons remained perfectly still as the man examined them, the green light in their eyes never fading or flickering even once.
Even BladeOfSorrow’s undead pet started playing with the undead skeletons, nudging them with its massive snout and making sure not to accidentally kill them with its strength.
The pet was immensely powerful after all, Leon could feel it radiating power, with a strength of around 5,000,000 combat power, just like its owner.
It was perfectly normal though, as pets were MUCH stronger than simple undead summons like the ones Leon had created with his skill.
"Just call me Sorrow," the leader spoke after he was done examining the skeletons, "I don’t really have a name beside my ID, so I simply use that instead of making something up."
"Alright, Sorrow," Leon nodded, accepting the introduction, "The name’s..."
"Celestial, yes, I already know who you are," Sorrow interrupted with a knowing smile.
"...Leon," Leon grinned as he completed his previous sentence, "I also have a real name like a normal person, you know."
"Oh, right," Sorrow scratched the back of his head awkwardly, "Well that’s good to know, nice to meet you properly then, Leon."
Time passed as the two talked and got to know each other better, and eventually, the moon rose high above all of them as night came to the mountains.
Honk!
There was another horn that erupted from one of the members of the group, announcing to everybody that it was time to prepare for what was coming.
"Alright, Celestial, I mean Leon, now listen to me carefully," Sorrow’s expression turned more serious than before, "The nights in the [Hollow Mountains] are incredibly rough, because there’s always hordes of monsters appearing out of nowhere, so we usually take turns sleeping and defending the camp."
"Oh?" Leon said, suddenly more interested.
It meant the [Hollow Mountains] had a unique mechanic of their own, which interested Leon greatly.
"Can I try to fight these monsters when they show up?" Leon asked with a wide grin spreading across his face, "I wanna see if I’m strong enough to handle them on my own."
The monsters here should all be between level 85 and 93 based on what he had seen, so if Leon could kill them efficiently, he would surely receive good items with his 100% drop rate talent.
He also needed to get much stronger in preparation for the [Time Tower] challenge so he wouldn’t be taken off guard by whatever was waiting for him inside.
"I don’t need to rest as an undead, it’s one of the natural traits of my race, so I remain awake all the time to defend them while they sleep," Sorrow spoke, "You can assist me tonight if you really want to fight."
After that announcement, many of the members of the group went inside of their tents to rest up for the night, while some remained standing outside, using some items on themselves or keeping their weapons clean and sharp.
And then, right as the moon reached its highest point in the sky, a notification appeared before everyone in the camp.
Ding!
[The "Hollow Mountains" have awoken, their monsters will come to find you and make you as hollow as they are.]
