Chapter 370 - 369: You Looked So Silly Just Now

When the two of them were together, they didn’t seem to talk about anything interesting, but just felt really good.

Damian suddenly let out a low laugh.

Bella looked at him, "Damian, why are you laughing?"

"Bella, you looked so silly just now." Damian glanced at the road ahead, then distractedly pinched Bella’s neck.

"Ah!" Bella’s neck was particularly ticklish, and she shrunk into a ball from his pinch, "Damian, you’re driving, don’t mess around."

Damian retracted his hand, looked at her blushing little face, and was in an exceedingly good mood.

Bella pouted and glared at him, but even as she glared, she couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.

She reached out and placed her hand beside his leg.

Damian let go of one hand to hold hers, their fingers interlocking, the warmth in their palms transferring between them, reaching deep into their hearts.

Unconsciously, he tightened his grip a little, holding her hand even more tightly.

Bella squeezed his hand back, her lips adorned with a happy smile.

They held hands like this, not speaking again for the rest of the journey.

This silence wasn’t awkward at all, instead, it was laced with a sweet feeling.

On the way, they stopped at a mall to buy some food and drinks before hitting the road again.

When they reached the orphanage gate, Damian found a place to park, while Bella went ahead with the things to knock on the door.

"Aunt Sienna, I’m back."

"Is that Bella?" Aunt Sienna’s voice came from the yard. After a while, the door opened, and Ethan rushed out first.

"Bella!" Ethan threw himself at Bella’s legs and started crying.

Bella’s heart ached. She crouched down, hugging the child into her arms, and comforted him softly, "Don’t cry, Ethan. The younger kids just found their parents and went home, they’re not missing."

"Really?" Ethan raised his little head, tears gleaming at the corners of his eyes.

The little look on his face was heartbreaking.

Bella’s heart melted completely. Gently wiping away the tears from his face, she said, "Of course it’s true. When has Bella ever lied to Ethan?"

"Uh-huh, Bella never lies to Ethan." Ethan nodded, "Bella, then where are Ethan’s parents? Why aren’t they coming to get Ethan?"

"Because Ethan’s mom and dad are in a very, very far away place, they can’t come here." Bella said, deliberately putting on a sad look and pretending to wipe away tears, "So Ethan wanted to leave Bella, huh? Bella is so sad."

"Ah, no!" Ethan hurriedly hugged her arm and said very seriously, "Ethan just wants to see his mom and dad, he won’t leave Bella!"

"Really?" Bella mimicking his earlier pitiful look, asked.

Ethan patted his little chest, earnestly promising, "Of course it’s true. Ethan likes Bella the most."

"Hahaha, I knew our Ethan was the best." Bella leaned in and gave him a big kiss on the cheek, saying, "Come on, Bella bought lots of snacks that Ethan likes, today you’re allowed to eat more."

"Really?" Ethan’s eyes lit up, and he jumped up in excitement. "Yay for Bella!"

Kids’ emotions come and go so quickly, and as soon as he heard he could eat all the snacks he liked, he was immediately overjoyed.

Aunt Sienna laughed as she took some of the bags from Bella’s hands, "Just coming back is enough, why bring so many things?"
