Chapter 389 - 388: Aunt Rhodes Is Acting Strange

The middle-aged woman suddenly reached out from above the table and grasped Bella Acker’s hand.

Bella Acker hesitated for a moment before smiling, "Auntie, please tell me what it’s about first. Let me see if I can help."

"Okay, here’s the thing." The middle-aged woman realized she might have been too eager and after calming down a bit, smiled a little awkwardly before saying, "Bonnie has never made friends. I see you and Bonnie get along well, so I thought maybe sometimes we could meet up and you could spend some time with Bonnie, perhaps he would be happier."

Bella Acker felt a bit troubled, "That might be difficult."

The middle-aged woman’s expression became tense for a moment, then she said, "Bella, I’m sorry, I was too abrupt..."

"It’s not that, Auntie." Bella Acker explained, "I rarely stay in Creston because of work, so I might not be able to meet up if you invite me. But if I’m on vacation and in Creston, I can definitely hang out with Bonnie."

"Really?" The middle-aged woman asked expectantly, and only smiled when she saw Bella Acker nod, "Bella, that’s wonderful. Thank you."

"No problem." Bella Acker said, "We have a child at home too, about the same age as Bonnie, they should be able to play together."

"Then next time we meet, let’s have them play together." The middle-aged woman sighed in relief and smiled, "Bella, what kind of work are you doing now? Having to travel all the time must be quite exhausting?"

"Just following along with the production crew. It’s okay, just a bit tiring when we’re rushing to finish, but I really love this job." Bella Acker smiled somewhat shyly.

"Oh, so Bella is an actress?" The middle-aged woman appeared slightly surprised.

"I’m just a newbie, not really an actress yet." Bella Acker blushed a little.

"That’s alright, everyone starts off as a newbie and progresses step by step." The middle-aged woman said, "Bella, what have you been filming? When will it be aired?"

"Just finished filming a TV series called ’Brocade River and Mountain’, it will be aired in a few months."

"Great, I’ll definitely watch it when it comes out." The middle-aged woman looked at Bella Acker with a gentle smile in her eyes.

Bella Acker felt even more embarrassed, as this was her first work and having someone she knows say they will watch it makes her feel a bit uneasy.

To avoid feeling more embarrassed, Bella Acker changed the topic, "Auntie, the question I asked you earlier..."

"Oh, you asked if I have any sisters?" The middle-aged woman’s expression became a little tense before returning to normal. She smiled and shook her head, saying, "No, I am an only child, but my parents passed away a long time ago."

"Really?" Bella Acker found it hard to believe, because she looked so much like the woman in the photo with her mother, except older. If her mother were still alive, she might look similar now too.

"Yes, really." The middle-aged woman nodded with a smile, "Bella, did you ask because I resemble someone?"
