Chapter 278 - 277: Sudden Confrontation!
Chapter 278 - 277: Sudden Confrontation!
The hooded man raised his hand and pointed his index finger toward Seimei. "You. You will come with me."
His words echoed like a command, causing the supervising instructor to break out in a cold sweat. The chakra, the pressure the hooded man radiated, made it clear that he wasn't someone to take lightly.
"You don't look like a ninja from Konoha. Who are you?" asked the supervising instructor, trying to buy more time to come up with a foolproof strategy to battle, more accurately, to ambush him.
With the naked malice the hooded figure was radiating, there was no way their meeting would be peaceful. Even if this man was from an independent ninja clan of the country, his intentions were clear.
All he could do now was buy some time to form a strategy and team up with his students to deal with the man before them.
But the hooded man completely ignored his question. He didn't even glance at him, completely dismissing his existence.
Reina also looked suspiciously at the hooded figure. She thought, This guy…why does his style look so familiar? I feel like I know what kind of group he belongs to, but my memories of the first hundred years of my life before the regression are still hazy.
Meanwhile, Seimei was utterly dumbfounded.
He simply blurted out, "Go with you? Now, now, you don't expect me to listen to this nonsense of yours, do you?"
"You are acting like a strange, pedophile uncle who is trying to beguile innocent children to follow you with lollipops to do unspeakable things to them later."
The supervising instructor standing beside Seimei looked at his audacious student in horror and screamed inwardly, No, student Seimei. In such a dire situation, do you still have the mood to crack jokes? Please read the room.
But the hooded man still seemed unfazed, and he simply stated, "If you are unwilling to come with me peacefully, I can only forcefully capture you. Whether you like it or not, you are coming with me."
Pressure and the malice radiated by the hooded man intensified as he added, "You have no other choice."
The hooded man ogled Seimei with eyes full of malice, hunger, and greed.
It was so intense that even Seimei got goosebumps.
He couldn't help but wonder, Damn it, don't tell me this guy is really a pedophile uncle. Why the heck is he so obsessed with abducting me? My bounty isn't even that high in the black market, is it? If I didn't know better, I would have thought his actual identity was Kakuzu, that money-obsessed bounty hunter.
"Hehe…is that so?" Seimei looked at the hooded man as if he were staring at an irreparable piece of trash and chuckled.
Suddenly, the air around the hooded man vibrated and let out a sharp humming sound.
Hummm~
If someone noticed carefully, they could see a four-sided wall of vibration forming around the hooded man. It was as if the wind itself substantialized due to some sonic frequency.
Seeing this, Seimei and the supervising instructor hailing from the Aburame clan couldn't help but click their tongue in frustration.
The Aburame clan ninja muttered in a voice as thin as that of a mosquito, "Plan failed, huh?"
Seimei added, "Indeed."
Reina, who had long activated her Sharingan, could clearly understand what was going on.
Her sharp vision could see numerous very small, almost imperceptible, poisonous insects trying to attack the hooded man, only to be stopped by the invisible, vibrating walls surrounding him.
A special kind of chakra that stores and transforms kinetic energy. Yes, it's Swift Release.
No doubt about it.
This hooded man had cast some kind of Ninjutsu that helped him to utilize the swift release chakra, transferring its vast kinetic energy to vibrate the air molecules and move them at a specific frequency to form four walls around him, capable of deflecting and halting the Aburame clan's special insects attacking him.
And he did all that without forming hand seals.
It seems his mastery over his Ninjutsu and chakra has far surpassed most Elite Jonin, making him particularly dangerous among the S-rank ninjas.
We need to be careful.
Opponents with Swift Release Kekkei Genkai are a massive pain in the butt.
Reina analyzed as the three, pitch-black tomoe of her Sharingan spun.
The hooded man, who had been silent until now, looked at the Aburame clan ninja and spoke with a clear, undeniable contempt.
"I hate it when bugs keep buzzing near my ears. And I particularly detest you, Aburame clan ninjas."
"Your body is crawling with so many bugs that it makes me vomit in disgust."
"Did you think I wouldn't notice your feeble attempt to ambush me with your tiny, squashy insects. Pathetic."
Even if your bugs had the properties to avoid chakra detection, with my sensitivity to the disturbances in the wind around me, there is no way I wouldn't spot your ambushing insects. The hooded man mocked inwardly.
"Since you dared to ambush me…"
The hooded man formed a couple of single-handed hand seals.
And in the blink of an eye, a current of deep blue lightning bolts erupted all around him, immediately paralyzing and killing the Aburame clan's special insects trying to attack him.
"...then I will deal with you first."
As soon as the hooded man finished those words, his figure instantly vanished from where he had been standing.
"Not good."
The Aburame clan ninja's eyes constricted as he immediately formed a series of hand seals to protect himself against the incoming quick attack.
Secret Technique: Insect Jar Technique
As soon as he activated his ninjutsu, a swarm of parasitic insects or kikaichu emerged from his body and flew around him at high speed to create a protective dome, similar to the Hyuga clan's Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven.
It was one of the highly effective, emergency defensive techniques of the Aburame clan that rarely failed to protect its users.
Unfortunately, the supervising instructor's luck wasn't good today.
Boom!
With a resounding sonic boom, the hooded figure suddenly appeared before the Aburame clan ninja, surrounded by swarms of kikaichu, like a ghost. His fist, covered in Swift Release chakra, hammered at the swirling dome of kikaichu.
Swift Release: Shattering Speed
The hooded ninja's left foot, covered in Swift Release chakra, dropped firmly on the ground, forming several spider-web-like cracks on the earth around him.
The kinetic force erupted from his left foot, traveled all the way to his torso, and was then empowered by the high-speed twist of his waist before traveling to his right fist, hammering at the swarm of kikaichu.
The moment his fist met the dome of Kikaichu, the accumulated kinetic energy burst outward in a very short span of time, creating a sonic boom that tore the air apart.
BOOM!
The sheer force and vibrating kinetic energy behind the high-speed punch instantly obliterated all the Kikaichu forming the protective dome, dismantling it in the process.
Next, the hooded figure's fist smashed on the chest of the Aburame clan ninja, instantly sending him flying several tens of meters away before his body slammed on the stem of a large tree.
The Aburame clan ninja spilled a mouthful of blood before coughing. A few of his ribs were broken. He had also suffered from severe internal injuries, rendering him utterly incapable of combat.
Even moving his body in that state would bring him nothing but agony.
At the same time, the ground beneath the hooded figure also caved in, forming a shallow but wide crater.
Crack! Crack! Bang!
This was enough to show just how much power the last technique of the hooded ninja released in one strike.
"Hmm? Still alive?"
The hooded figure exclaimed, but he wasn't surprised.
He understood what happened.
Right before his fist connected with the Aburame clan ninja's chest, a large number of parasitic insects swarmed to the location of the impact to prevent him from dying instantly.
Additionally, he had a special light armor under his ninja uniform, which played a huge role in keeping him alive.
The hooded figure shook his head, "No matter. One more blow will do the job."
However, before he could even make a move, a sense of danger washed over him like blaring alarms.
Without any hesitation, he immediately cast Swift Release: Shadowless Flight to move away from his current location instantaneously.
The moment the hooded figure disappeared, Seimei suddenly appeared and punched the spot where he had been standing just a moment ago.
Chakra Enhanced Strength
BOOOOOM!
Chakra gathered in Seimei's fist instantly exploded, forming an even deeper crater on the ground while kicking up dust and rock fragments in the air.
Tch! Slippery as hell. Seimei complained inwardly as his strike missed.
Right at that moment, the hooded figure suddenly appeared beside Seimei and was about to punch him.
But he was forced to halt his punch.
In his peripheral vision, a flaming sword with tongues of blue flames swirling around its edges slashed at his neck, aiming to decapitate him in one swift motion.
However, before the blade could cut him, the hooded figure vanished once more.
His figure appeared twenty meters away as he saw the black-haired Uchiha girl standing beside the white-haired boy with a flaming ninja sword in her hand.
The hooded figure couldn't help but touch the corner of the hood that had a minor cut and a burnt edge. That blade-wielding Uchiha girl almost claimed his life.
Meanwhile, Seimei asked, "You missed, too, huh, Reina? And here I thought you would end him swiftly once I lure him by showing an opening."
Reina retorted, "What do you know? These Swift Release bastards have always been as slippery as cowardly eels—rat-like assassins who are experts in running away."
Seimei and Reina locked eyes with the mysterious hooded man.
Seimei retrieved his ninjato (a straight-bladed katana) from his storage bracelet and added, "Doesn't matter. Whether he's a slippery eel, a sneaky rat, or a sleazy pedophile uncle, he will die all the same."
