Chapter 39 The God of War During Garbage Time
Looking at Thabeet's bewildered expression, Jia Fei felt sorry for him. Thabeet was a player from UConn, UConn's highest-drafted player in the NBA draft. Who would have thought that such a seemingly talented high-draft pick would fail to live up to expectations?
Jia Fei could only feel sorry for himself. He was in dire straits, barely able to save himself. How could he possibly help his senior?
The on-site commentary team consisted of Reggie Miller and Steve Kerr from TNT.
Reggie Miller said, "Hashem Thabeet really needs to learn some low-post footwork from Hakeem Olajuwon."
Steve Kerr laughed, his face so wrinkled it could trap a large fly: "Maybe he's not suited for this."

White Aldridge came out to set a screen, and Reggie used the screen to jump shot—but he missed!
Thabeet grabbed the rebound and tried to pass the ball ahead to Parsons, who was making a fast break, but his junior, Jia Fei, intercepted the ball!
Jia Fei stole the ball and launched a counterattack, passing it to veteran Collison under the basket.
Collison easily scored 2 points with a layup!

The fans at the Ford Center gave him a round of applause... Collison isn't actually that old, but he's the oldest player on the team and is practically a legend. Fans adore this man who is so loyal to the team.
Reggie Miller shook his head and said, "Hashem's pass was too long; he should have passed the ball to the point guard across half-court."
Steve Kerr agreed with him: "He was too presumptuous and didn't take into account that his passing technique wasn't very good."
The Rockets are on offense, and Gao Fushuai has the ball on the right wing facing Jia Fei.
"Come on, Chandler, come and beat me up!" Jia Fei said with an innocent look on his face.
After threatening Jia Fei three times and seeing that Jia Fei didn't move, Gao Fushuai pulled up for a jump shot!
Unexpectedly, Jia Fei reacted very quickly. If he hadn't leaned back, the ball would have been blocked!
He threw the ball and it went completely out of bounds...
A burst of silvery laughter erupted from the home fans on the sidelines. If Jia Fei had seen her now, he would have recognized her immediately. She was the girl who had taken a photo with him at the supermarket.

The Rockets called a timeout. The rim protector couldn't stand it anymore. Even in garbage time, even knowing they were going to lose, couldn't they at least be a little more dignified? We still have games to play; we can't let our morale be completely destroyed!

The Thunder fans in the arena were certainly entertained. They initially thought it was a pity that the game was decided too early, but now it seems there's no regret. Jia Fei's outstanding performance made up for the fact that the game was lost.
