Chapter 400: There is a transaction in the warehouse area, get evidence as soon as possible

He was unwilling to give up, nor was he willing to give up. Deep down, he was supported by a strong belief that since he had chosen to go down this path, there was no turning back.

After a moment, the noise outside the corridor faded away, and silence fell once again. Su Ming slowly breathed a sigh of relief and reassessed the situation. He now had to make a decision—should he continue infiltrating to search for crucial intelligence, or should he retreat temporarily and seek another opportunity?

"No more hesitation," he decided silently. Time waits for no one; the longer he delays, the more likely he'll be exposed. He quickly emerged from his hiding place, confirmed the security camera in the hallway was facing the other way, then nimbly climbed out the window and leaped onto the adjacent balcony.

The balcony was filled with junk and a musty smell. He held his breath and moved cautiously, afraid to make any noise. Suddenly, his ears caught the sound of a low conversation coming from the next room.

"Brother Tang, the delivery of this batch of goods has to be postponed. The situation has been too tense recently." said a hoarse voice.

"Postpone?" Tang Wenbo snorted coldly, "We're running out of time. The pressure from above is growing. If we delay any further, the risks will only increase."

Su Ming's ears pricked up. This was the first time he had gotten close to Tang Wenbo's core secrets in his days of lurking. He held his breath and leaned forward slightly, hoping to hear more clearly.

"But, Brother Tang, the people we have..." The hoarse voice seemed a little hesitant.

"Stop talking nonsense!" Tang Wenbo interrupted him. "No matter what method you use, you must ship the goods tomorrow. Otherwise, you know the consequences."

The room fell into a brief silence, while Su Ming's mind raced. He had to pass this information on, but he couldn't leave immediately. His only option was to remain hidden and search for more detailed evidence.

He quietly took out the small listening device from his waist and placed it silently in the corner of the wall, so that even if he was forced to retreat, the organization could continue to obtain intelligence.

Just as he finished installing the equipment, hurried footsteps suddenly sounded at the door. Su Ming's heart tightened, and he quickly retreated, hiding in the shadows beside the balcony.

"Brother Tang, this is bad!" One of his men rushed in panicking, "We've spotted someone suspicious!"

Su Ming cursed inwardly, his actions clearly exposed. He knew there was no time to hesitate, so he quickly turned and jumped back to the garden below. His footsteps made a slight sound as they landed, but he didn't look back. Instead, he ran as fast as he could towards the end of the darkness.

There was a noise behind him, and someone shouted, "Over there! Catch him!" In an instant, several flashlight beams swept across the night, trying to lock onto his figure.

"Damn it!" Su Ming gritted his teeth and ran at full speed. His legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead, but he didn't dare stop. He knew in his heart that if he was caught, he would face more than just failure.

"Bang!" A gunshot pierced the night sky, and the bullet grazed his shoulder, causing a sharp pain. He didn't look back, the sweat on his forehead slid down his cheek, and his eyes were full of determination.

Su Ming felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, the grazed wound from the bullet causing him to slow down for a moment. He gritted his teeth, his chest heaving violently, forcing himself to ignore the burning pain. He could hear the rapid sound of pursuing footsteps, and he knew he had to speed up, or face disastrous consequences. Under the cover of night, he felt like a lone wolf pursued by hounds, only by running desperately could he save his life.

"I absolutely cannot get caught here..." he repeated to himself over and over. For Su Ming, being caught would mean complete mission failure and a significant blow to the organization. And as the pawn most deeply embedded in the enemy camp, he had no escape route.

The wind whistled in his ears, and footsteps approached behind him. Su Ming forced himself to suppress the panic in his heart. He quickly sketched an escape route in his mind, avoiding main roads as much as possible to avoid being swept by the patrol's flashlight beams. At this moment, his thoughts were as clear as an ice-cold blade, and any extraneous emotions were completely blocked in his heart.

Turning a narrow alley, he found a high wall ahead. Without hesitation, Su Ming increased his speed, kicking his legs hard, leaping up, grabbing the top of the wall with both hands, and quickly scrambling over. The moment he landed, the sound of pursuit behind him suddenly intensified, as if the enemy had locked onto his direction.

"Hurry! He's over there!" A pursuer shouted, his voice full of ruthlessness and impatience.

Su Ming's heart was pounding so hard it threatened to burst out of his throat, but he didn't stop. He knew if he was caught up, there would be no chance of survival. He tried to catch his breath, to calm the fatigue from the intense exercise, and continued running.

"I have to find a place to hide." He quickly looked around, trying to find a way out. Just then, he noticed a half-open iron gate at the end of the alley. Without hesitation, he rushed over, gently pushed it open, quickly slipped inside, and quickly closed the door, crouching in the shadows and holding his breath.

Footsteps approached from outside the door. Several pursuers paused before it, seemingly hesitating whether to inspect it. Su Ming's entire body tensed, even his breathing slowed as much as possible. His heartbeat was like a drum, but he knew he had to remain absolutely calm. Even the slightest sound could give him away.

"Could he have hidden in there?" a gruff voice asked in a low voice.

"Let's go in and take a look!" The other man seemed to have made up his mind, and the iron door was suddenly pushed open a crack. Su Ming instantly held his breath, crawling to the ground, trying to shrink himself into the dark corner. His palms were sweating, and he could almost hear the pounding of his heart.

A flashlight beam shone through the door, sweeping back and forth across the dark warehouse. The beam barely brushed Su Ming's cheek, and he instinctively closed his eyes, his fingers tightly gripping the dagger. If he were discovered, he was ready to fight to the death.

"No one is here, let's go!" Finally, the flashlight beam left, the door was closed, and the footsteps outside gradually faded away.

Su Ming finally breathed a sigh of relief, his muscles aching from the intense tension. He slowly stood up and leaned against the cold wall, his forehead covered in sweat. Although he had escaped death, he knew he didn't have much time left. The wound on his shoulder still ached, but he had to continue. His mission was not yet complete, and time was running out.

"I need to find my next stop as soon as possible," Su Ming told himself, quickly adjusting his breathing and regaining some strength. He pulled a small medical kit from his waist and quickly bandaged the wound on his shoulder with gauze. While the effect of stopping the bleeding was limited, it at least prevented him from fainting from excessive blood loss.

By this time, the sky was beginning to lighten, and the night was about to end. Su Ming knew that after daybreak, his whereabouts would be more easily exposed. Taking advantage of the darkness before it completely dissipated, he began to move again. At the end of the alley was an abandoned factory area, which might be a temporary hiding place for him.

He crossed a weed-covered vacant lot and, in the dim light of dawn, spotted the dilapidated factory building in the distance. Although it looked long abandoned, it felt much safer to him than the open street. Cautiously, he approached the factory's side door, pried open the rusty lock with a tool, and slipped inside silently.

The factory was pitch black, with only a few rays of morning light filtering through the broken windows, illuminating the dust particles hanging in the air. Su Ming gently closed the door and pressed his ear against it, listening for a moment. Once he confirmed that no pursuers were following, he relaxed a little. He found a worn wooden box in the corner and sat down, catching his breath while carefully reflecting on the conversation he had just overheard.

"Tang Wenbo must be planning something bigger..." He fell into deep thought. Though the conversation just now wasn't long, he had already grasped some key information. However, he needed more evidence to confirm the specific plan and timing of the entire operation. Now, he not only had to protect himself, but also had to obtain as much intelligence as possible to prepare for the organization's next move.

"I can't stop here." Su Ming closed his eyes, his mind rapidly planning his next steps. Now, he had to find a way to infiltrate Tang Wenbo's inner circle and obtain more insider information. However, his injuries and fatigue made him realize that without a short rest, it would be difficult to continue the next move.

Su Ming took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. Though he appeared calm at the moment, the anxiety within him was like the magma buried deep beneath a volcano, ready to erupt at any moment. Every lurking mission, every mission, he was gambling his life; the slightest misstep could result in his death. But he had no choice; he had already gone too far down this path, and there was no turning back.

Time ticked by, and the sky outside gradually brightened. Su Ming leaned against the cold wall, closed his eyes, and rested, allowing himself to recover his strength briefly. He knew the next move would be even more dangerous, and all he could rely on was his calm mind and years of accumulated experience.

Just as he was lost in thought, his phone suddenly vibrated. He quickly pulled it out and checked it. It contained an encrypted message: "There will be a transaction in the warehouse area tonight at 9 o'clock. Get evidence as soon as possible."

Su Ming's eyes glared, his heartbeat accelerating. This information meant he had a new opportunity to penetrate the enemy camp, but it would also be a life-or-death adventure. He didn't hesitate, knowing this might be his only chance to bring Tang Wenbo to justice.

"Nine o'clock, warehouse district..." He murmured softly, his mind quickly sketching out a plan of action. He had no time to waste, he had to prepare quickly.
