Chapter 311 Waiting to be received
Chapter 311 Waiting to be received
Wasn't that Mom on the phone just now?
Unable to handle Tian Tian's situation, the male police officer called his female colleague. The policewoman knelt down slightly and patiently wiped away the tears from Tian Tian's cheeks.
Sweetie glanced at the policewoman, then continued to wail and cry, "I want my mommy! I want my mommy!"
Her wailing echoed throughout the street. The driver, looking at Tian Tian who even the police couldn't soothe, grabbed the policeman's hand with a look of utter despair and tried his best to prove, "My car was really still some distance away from her. She just suddenly lay down on the ground."
The police officer had heard this phrase at least ten times. Seeing that he still couldn't soothe Tian Tian, the officer lost his patience. "Stop talking, go to the police station to make a statement."
Hearing that she was going to be taken to the police station, Tian Tian immediately turned around and shouted at the police officers heading to the station, "No! I don't want to go to the police station!"
The policewoman usually encounters many children when she's on duty, but today she's dealing with Tiantian, who's so difficult.
She shook her head at her colleague, "I'm going to get a drink of water."
After saying that, he turned and left without a moment's hesitation.
Feeling even angrier at being left behind, Tian Tian wailed even louder than before.
The male police officer had only recently graduated and didn't even have a girlfriend, let alone a child. Seeing how much Tian Tian was crying, he sighed, "My goodness, how can she cry so much! Aren't you tired or thirsty?"
Upon hearing this, Sweetie defiantly raised her voice even louder.
The onlookers had dispersed, and new passersby assumed the police were abusing a child. Seeing the negative impact this had on the police, the male officer, regardless of Tian Tian's wishes, reached out, grabbed her, and forcibly shoved her into the police car.
"I don't want to go, I want my mom!" Sweetie waved her limbs and kicked the policeman's shin with her feet.
His arm was kicked hard, instantly turning red and purple. The male police officer couldn't bring himself to yell at a child, and could only grit his teeth and close the car door.
Just then, the policewoman who had just escaped from Tian Tian walked towards them, carrying two bottles of water and a bottle of milk.
"Where's the child?" The policewoman handed one of the bottles of water to the policeman, her eyes scanning for Tian Tian's figure.
The male police officer turned to the side and immediately revealed Tian Tian, who was making a ruckus inside the car.
The policewoman waved the milk in her hand and said to the policeman, "Go and give this bottle of milk to her."
"Sis, look at my hand, are you sure you still want me to take you?" The male police officer showed the spot where Tian Tian had just kicked him.
"What's wrong with you?" After exchanging glances with the male officer, the policewoman patted her colleague's shoulder sympathetically and walked towards the car door.
As soon as the car door opened a crack, Tian Tian took the opportunity to crawl out.
The policewoman had no idea that she would escape, and was caught off guard as Sweetie ran out of the car.
"Ran!"
"Hey, watch out!"
The male police officer reached out, looking on with lingering fear as he watched Tian Tian force the oncoming car to stop.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness!" the policewoman muttered, the bottle in her hand crushed.
"How could you just rush into the road without a care?" The male police officer pulled Tian Tian back from the front of the car and scolded her sternly.
But as soon as he said it, he regretted it, worried that she would burst into tears again.
Fortunately, after nearly being hit by a car, Tian Tian became much more well-behaved than before.
buzz~
The cell phone in her pocket buzzed, and the policewoman took it out to see that it was a call from her superior.
After listening to the phone call, the policewoman looked at Tian Tian in disbelief and quickly said into the phone, "Okay, okay, it's right here, okay."
"What's wrong?" Her male colleague came closer, looking at her phone with curiosity.
"We got a call from above, saying she's from the Gu family," the policewoman said, glancing at Tian Tian.
Upon hearing this, Sweetie immediately ran over and asked, "Did the Gu family come looking for me?"
The policewoman was startled when he suddenly approached. Regaining her composure, she nodded.
The leader just informed me that the Gu family saw the content posted online, so they contacted their police chief and asked the police officers on duty to take care of Tian Tian first. Their people are already on their way.
The policewoman opened the milk in her hand and handed it to Tian Tian. "Yes, your mother is coming to pick you up. Shall we go to the police station together first?"
"Okay." Sweetie immediately nodded in agreement.
She did all this in order to find an opportunity to return to the Gu family.
……
"Yin Shen, has Tian Tian gotten up to eat?"
As soon as Gu Yinshen returned to his room, Ruolan pressed him for answers.
He avoided Ruolan's questioning gaze, "Not yet. He should have just fallen asleep by now, so he's not hungry yet."
Ruolan lifted the covers and got out of bed. "Yinshen, is she feeling unwell? It's been so long, she can't go without eating."
Gu Yinshen turned to look at Ruolan, who had a worried expression on her face, and rubbed her shoulder. "It's nothing. Children are just being temperamental and don't want to eat. Don't be too nervous. Get some rest first, and we can talk about it tomorrow."
He bent down, picked up his pajamas, and turned to go into the bathroom.
Ruolan stood by the bed, thinking it over and over, but something still didn't feel right. She saw the sound of water coming from the bathroom, silently opened the door, and went out.
She arrived at Sweetie's room, knocked on the door, and gently called out, "Sweetie~ Are you asleep? Can Mommy come in?"
There was no response from inside for a long time. After a while, Ruolan became worried that something might happen to Tiantian in the room, so she reached out and pushed the door open.
My gaze fell on the bed, but there was no sign of Tian Tian there.
Did they go downstairs to get something to eat?
Ruolan turned and left the room, heading straight downstairs.
While still on the stairs, she heard soft noises coming from the kitchen. A smile appeared on Ruolan's face, and her steps became lighter.
"Sweetie, do you need Mommy's help?" As soon as she finished speaking, Ruolan looked at Aunt Xue, who was still tidying up in the kitchen. "Aunt Xue, isn't Sweetie here?"
"Miss Sweetie?" Aunt Xue asked back, then looked towards the living room. "I didn't see Miss Sweetie come downstairs."
She had just finished cleaning the living room and only went into the kitchen for a minute or two.
Ruolan murmured, "That's strange. She's not in her room either. Where could she have gone at this time?"
"Not in the room?" Aunt Xue was surprised.
She didn't come downstairs for dinner. If she's still not in her room now, does that mean we couldn't find her back then?
Aunt Xue looked at Ruolan nervously, not daring to tell her the truth.
However, the expression on her face betrayed her thoughts. Ruolan grabbed Aunt Xue's hand and asked, "Aunt Xue, do you know something?"
Aunt Xue pulled her hand away from Ruolan's, shaking her head with a vague smile, "No, no. I just thought it was strange that Miss Tiantian wasn't in her room, Madam."
"I see." Ruolan realized she had been overthinking things and turned to look at the pitch-black courtyard behind her.
