Chapter 1050: I Want to See You
Chapter 1050: I Want to See You
Stella Charlie began trying to get out of bed and move around without the accompaniment of a nurse in preparation for quickly adapting to blindness after being discharged. After getting out of bed, she stumbled her way to the wall, and walked along it to the door of the hospital room.
The unknown in the darkness makes one feel very insecure, and a bit overwhelmed.
She hesitated at the door, took a deep breath, and then stepped forward.
After taking just a couple of steps, she tripped over a chair in the corridor.
The nurse on duty at the nurses’ station saw this and hurriedly helped her up: "Miss Charlie, if you need anything just press the call button, why are you out here alone?"
"I’m fine."
"Your hand hasn’t fully healed yet, what if you injure it again? Just lie down well in the bed, call us if you need anything."
Stella Charlie was brought back to the hospital room, feeling a surge of defeat.
If she can’t even walk out of the hospital, how can she be discharged?
After the nurse left, she secretly wandered around the hospital room again, wanting to quickly adapt to her current situation.
Tripping and stumbling, her legs were bruised in several places.
The hospital staff called Vincent Warner to inform him about Stella Charlie’s condition. On the day Vincent returned from his business trip, he went straight to the hospital room.
Stella Charlie lay on the bed listening to the radio with headphones on, unaware that someone had arrived at the hospital room door.
Vincent Warner gave the caretaker a silent signal, and after the caretaker quietly walked away, he stepped into the hospital room.
As he approached the bedside, the movement of air brought the scent of men’s cologne to Stella Charlie’s nose.
Stella Charlie opened her eyes, took off her headphones, and turned her head slightly toward the direction where Vincent Warner was standing.
"Not asleep yet?" Vincent Warner started the conversation.
Stella Charlie pursed her lips and said, "I can be discharged tomorrow."
Her tone didn’t carry the kind of joy that would accompany a recovery, and Vincent Warner knew her family’s situation, so he understood what she was worried about.
Vincent Warner directly asked, "Is there nowhere for you to go?"
Stella Charlie froze for a moment, and then her eyes gradually reddened.
Actually, in these last two days, she had been hoping, hoping her family would come to see her, and would come to take her home from the hospital.
But as things stand, they probably assume she has already passed away.
"Don’t worry, after your discharge, I’ll have people take care of you until your eyes get better."
"...Will they really get better?"
"They will."
Just as Vincent Warner finished speaking, the caretaker ran to the door and whispered to him: "Mr. Warner, Dr. Linton asked you to come over, said there’s good news to tell you."
Vincent Warner nodded and said to Stella Charlie, "Rest early."
In Dr. Linton’s office, Vincent Warner sat down at the vacant seat opposite the desk.
"There’s a cornea available; the surgery can be arranged as early as tomorrow afternoon." Saying this, Dr. Linton sighed: "Reportedly, it also belonged to a girl who died in a car accident, only seventeen or eighteen years old."
Vincent Warner exhaled deeply before asking, "How long after surgery until she can see again?"
"Generally, it’s about a week."
The surgery was scheduled for the following afternoon, and it wasn’t until the evening that Stella Charlie came out of the operating room.
Vincent Warner had returned to The Warner today, clearly a big family gathered together to eat, yet the atmosphere was not truly joyful.
Everyone was full of their own ulterior motives, calculating for their personal interests.
Exhausted in body and mind, Vincent Warner did not immediately go to rest, but asked the driver to take him to the hospital.
When he arrived, Stella Charlie had already been awake for a while.
The bandages wrapped around her eyes concealed her clear dark eyes.
Vincent Warner didn’t know how Stella Charlie figured out it was him, he hadn’t even spoken yet, when he heard Stella Charlie say: "...Can you be there on the day the bandages are removed? I want to see you."
